Got my Birdkids The Bateleur 42HP system back after lending it to a friend for 6 months.
Pairs well with Digitone :slightly_smiling_face:

I recently downsized out of my large case into two Pod 48x, here is one of them:

Basically half Just Type, half W/ looping. I’m running this into/with my Moog gear: Mother 32 + DFAM + Grandmother. I’ve totally re-fallen in love with my DFAM for processing the audio from this set up.

The other pod is Morphagene + Maths + Lxd + Quantum rainbow 2 for jamming with outside sources and a different kind of looping setup.

How good is this setup!?! I want to know more and hear it!

That’s a txn/nearness mixer between JF and TT, which will either get used as a final mixer or as submix for the individual outputs of JF. I’d gone back and forth about whether having 3 w/ was overkill in a small system, but realtime loop/tape music composition and unconventional sequencing is what I like about modular so I kept all 3. I keep the two on the left as a constant pair to use together and the one of the right as an aux delay/looper for whatever I need. I’ve talked in length about my w/ usage in the past over in the w/ thread, but my go-to patch these days has changed a bit:

-I’ll mult a mono audio source (rhythmic sources are especially fun) into two different w/ with different loop lengths, turn off monitoring, send a 5v offset into THAT so you are only hearing one pass at a time. If I want more density of sound I’ll modulate that offset down to wherever, just keeping it positive. Between messing around with different loop lengths and source material there is plenty here to keep me busy. You can monitor it in stereo or mix together back to mono.

These days I’m almost always sending the w/ outputs into my Moog gear, especially now that I’m relying on JF as my main voice. I, honestly, don’t love the sound of JF, but running it through the Moog mixer and ladder filter gives it a little more life. The square wave out sounds decent, and I do like the sine wave with intone FM tuned just right, but the saw just doesn’t work for me and I’m a huge fan of saw waves in general. Still love the workflow of Just Type and knowing that I’m in tune no questions asked when jamming with other folks.

I don’t really use Cold Mac any consistent way, it fills so many roles I try to use it as the patch calls for it. Panning, mixing, vca, compression, offsets, patch surveillance. I really dig the location circuit modulating things. My old go-to CM+W/ patch was single w/ to panning section of cold mac out to the two other w/ in stereo. With a really slow triangle LFO modulating survey/fade and long, drastically different loop lengths on w/s, thats a pretty good base for an ambient patch.

While I don’t have any soundclips readily available of this current set up with Just Friends, my last two EPs (Terrace and Steep Way) have multiple w/ all over it. Feel free to check them out.

I’m learning to use Kria and the SWN together and having a lot of fun in the process. Might leave my lunchbox like this for a while!

Sure! Give me a little more time to wrap my mind around them and I’d be happy to share.

Putting together this 60hp double Benjolin case. Messed up the Joystick build, so I hope it works! DelayNoMore 3 still to build. Thinking about what case to use for this. 4ms pod is tempting but the lack of proper rails is putting me off. Maybe a custom job instead.

What joystick module is it?
I don’t see it on modulargrid…

Timo Rozendal’s joystick module.

Here a box for less than $7. Should fit at least 35hp:

Anyone have a thought on the ideal size/configuration of a rack for playing in your lap? I have a 6u 52hp box in mind, but fear that may be too big to kick back with in an easy chair.

The intellijel palette (4U, 62hp) is a pretty good size for lap jamming. Anything larger than that I would personally find pretty unwieldy.

I’ve made a couple 6U 52hp cases and they are a really fun size! Most recent build is 3U 52hp, which will be a fun exercise when I don’t have impending gigs and can raid my 9U case for my uZeus and three or so modules.

going super downscaling in one of these two directions

this + small mix case with rainmaker/fraptoolsCGM + norns

or this with just + norns (do you this mimeo can replace in some ways rainmaker? i use it mainly for long ambient filtered delay)

I saw a Mylar Melodies video yesterday wherein he replaced his Rainmaker with a Mimeophone. It can be done but as always it is up to you.
