Mylar is also explicitly a techno boi. Rainmaker can’t do everything Mimeophon can, and that goes both ways. Rainmaker lets you design your own delays or create random ones. Mimeophon does a smear of delays that Mr. Erbe has tweaked with a fixed filtering scheme and some reverb. Neither is better, but there are definitely reasons to pick one over the other. Mylar also had Rainmaker in his gig case, which was a huge hp ask, Mimeophon gave him a decent replacement for both Rainmaker and Erbe Verb, thereby giving him space to do other things. Different results, but good for his goals.
