I thought it would be fun to design some smaller (and cheaper) 1U utility modules that I regularly need, so in this pic I have a clock/lfo, offset/attenuverter, passive attenuator, and a little mixer that is too cramped to be enjoyable (but gets the job done!)

Would be very curious to hear the results!

Here’s a clip + a couple of sine waves

really subtle and alive sound, thanks! kind of something i’ve been trying to achieve for a long time. this makes me want to focus and study my modules more systematically.

cheers! I have quite a large main system but it’s very rewarding to focus on a handful of modules like this

I guess your pizza is being cooked?

How do you get sines from this setup?

the sine waves are coming from max. they’re tuned to partials of the synth’s fundamental

I’m actually going to pass on the Pizza (first time that sentence has ever been ushered from my mouth). I’m actually going to remove one Godspeed and the DLPG, in lieu of the new Làrachd by Instruo. For additional information, this lunchbox sits in front of an Octatrack

Nice rig!

Curious how you like the Ikarie…

It’s an amazing module, full of Bastl/Casper creative and versatile design. It’s really performative to play and push it sonically, but it’s easy to return to somewhere familiar (not something all modules can offer). I use it in a variety of ways: sometimes end of chain, dj-style; sometimes vocal pings, pushing the resonant peaks apart; I like the right hand channel in the feedback loop of the Dark Matter and modulate it with an input on the left hand channel (the ikarie envelope follower only follows the left input). The beyond output usually goes into the B channel of the Waver and the waver mix out goes through the dark matter to the main out.

Really random question - do you find the jacks to be really close to the top of module on the Waver?

I’m unable to fit mine in a 4ms Pod, which is frustrating. Behind the faceplate, the jacks hit the top “rail” metal, and the screw holes can’t get high enough to align…

It’s not a problem I’ve experienced, personally. I’ve also racked it in a intellijel 7u and my doepfer case. All of them have been fine.

a passive switch/mixer i got from someone on MW years ago

i love it but left it out of my case for a while, pairs well with teletype for building rhythms
