I’m also not a fan of the SW software, but I do like using VCV Rack with my es-3/es-6 combo.

I really like VCV but it’s so CPU heavy! As soon as I open it up my fan starts going.

Back to the Ableton update - the cv shaper device is really cool! Custom designed LFO’s with lots of cross modulation possibilities. Right now I’m just using them within Live but I’m excited to use them with the modular.

Reminds me of the Reaktor Kodiak Curve Sequencer (which I’ve used with ES-8 before). Neat to have it native in Live!

finally, something worth upgrading for! love this development. also brings new life to the old motus i have in the garage.

I’m very excited for the cv tools too but am I the only person who thinks Capture is the best development in years? The wavetable synth is marvelous as well

When I heard about it I was like “capture shmapture, I should just jam with record on” but it’s really incredible. the BPM detection is so helpful for me too; I feel like I usually have some rhythm in my fingers that my head can’t seem to nail down a tempo to

“As early as 1911, it was recognized, by the experiments of Thomas Graham Brown, that the basic pattern of stepping can be produced by the spinal cord without the need of descending commands from the cortex.” Woah, this is cool!

Capture saved me the time I was noodling around with some ideas when my cat decided to walk across the keyboard. Perfect “chords” for what I happened to be playing but I wasn’t recording. Had to google to find out how to capture since I had never used it before.

Hi!
I am working on an art project for school. I want to make an interactive instalation where someone can pick up a device and swing it around in XYZ space. I want that device to link to Ableton live 10 and change FX settings for the sound that the participant hears.
Does anyone know a device I can use for this?

Do you have Max4Live? If so, check out the Connection Kit:

https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/connection-kit/

I have the standard version of ableton live 10, as far as I know Max4live is only for suite. Sorry if I am wrong

Max for Live is available as an add on to the standard version, and you may be eligible for an academic discount.

You might want to look into the upgrade pricing to get Suite, as the total cost is probably well worth the extra features, if you can afford it.

Have fun!

What kind of device are you thinking of?

I saw something at someone’s concert. It was a device you put on your finger and you can move your hand to change any effect on ableton (all XYZ directions)

Adafruit have some little devices that are just what you need. However their mobile UI is rubbish & i’m Only on my phone so you will have to search yourself.

someone do it with a wii remote and OSC libraries

My favourite improvement is pinch to zoom. I mean, it’s 2019 and all.
