This new update excites me a lot more than 10.

Built in note chance and velocity chance… and MPE…yay!

I’ve also gone total fanboy and have pre-ordered. Looks great.

I wouldn’t normally advocate profligate use of hard earned £ but…

I lost that fight right when the mail arrived. They added MPE. As far as I’m concerned, anything else is bonus.

Frankly if there was ever a time to not resist an update, the time is now. My “no brainer” updates, are those that include things that completely cut my creative workflow for years, and are instantly resolved, Ableton 11 has SEVERAL of those things, and it has them for either live use cases and studio use cases. I mean at that point, I just can’t wait to get my hands on it and hope I’ll recieve the Beta soon enough.

Ableton 11 to me just says : more music less fiddling. It’s really all I want.

Thank god theyre continuing to update Push 2’s capabilities, I was worried a Push 3 was gonna happen with the MPE update and make me regret just getting one lol. but hey my dream of polyphonic aftertouch on the push is now real!!

Hi, where does it outline this on the site? I’m seeing free upgrades if you buy as of today, but no mention about if you bought it recently (I bought 10 about 3 weeks ago haha).

I think you might want to email them, they’re usually pretty responsive and understanding. I mean, I know they’ve done nice things for me in the past (because I’m unlucky that way like you), so I can’t see why they wouldn’t for very recent buyers.

Also I think there’s no worry to have about Push 3 making Push 2 deprecated, they kept updating Push 1 for a while as well despite quite major design differences between both units, so I can’t imagine they’ll change that approach for Push 3 (which, sincerely, I still think is around the corner even though they don’t talk about it).

I was worried too as I’m about to send back my Push 2 to Ableton for a (paid) replacement;
For what it’s worth, the employee from Ableton told me this morning that they have “no information about Push 3 at the moment”.

This was an instant upgrade for me as well. The additional probability features are worth the price alone for me – I’ve used so many kludgy M4L workarounds to get that stuff and now it’s built right into the note editor! (I was also hoping for microtonal support for native Live instruments [microtonal Wavetable would be so great] but I’ll certainly take what we’re getting!)

Built-in micro-tuning would be a game changer!!!

I reckon the mpe update will make microtonality work arounds with m4l much easier anyhow, since you can just map individual pitch bend to each note.

this update looks really great. especially excited about comping and mpe.

wow you’re right! i’m sure there will be m4l devices REAL soon. and hopefully a built-in feature in the future! with keys and scales being able to be changed per clip, an updated scale object where you could change tonality per clip would be cool :eyes:

old post, I know, but I was looking into this a while back and decided on getting a behringer x-touch one and it has proven to exceed my expectations. it really has everything I want: transport control buttons, jog wheel, loop, punch in/out, hide/view browser/details etc. And I edited the mackie script so now I also have a dedicated “add marker” button which is so great to use when jamming – just adding a little bookmark when it sounds nice, and then you’re able to jump to the previous/next marker. And not the least: a dedicated “back to arrangement” button which lights up orange when back to arrangement is activated in live. having a single fader to ride for automation is pretty usable to.

Got my beta invite and it’s wonderful to be able to record MPE in live now (Aalto + Linnstrument works really well!). But… I also found the first reproducible crash when trying to edit pressure curves (don’t try to select all via ctrl + a). Off to write a bug report.

Although I’m in no rush to upgrade my computer, I wonder when Live will be compatible with the ARM CPU (“Apple Silicon”) based Apple computers. The Live 11 system requirements state

Intel® Core™ i5 processor

as required.

Thanks for saving me time trying to look up all the info. Really exciting. :cat2: :cat2: :cat2:

I actually have a question in regards to this;

With the track recording and comping, does that also record both midi notes AND modulation? I would love to be able to record comps of my altering parameters on my peak or digitone and have that automation record along with the audio in a comp form.

Would you be able to check to see if that works? :smiley:
