Kind of embarrasing to really show my newb colours but I found this useful. https://youtu.be/YEOWWu2vkko

Hello all. Back from vacation, and ready to create some new Aleph scenes! I also have posted quite a few along the way, but each time with a different version of Bees so I’ll have to get back to the whole thing and check for compatibility issues. It would be nice then to know where to post, and maybe have some basic scenes for each use of the Aleph. Some great puzzling stuff was also posted by @rick_monster in order to use his Mem0D operator, very useful if you want to use a grid!

Then, to answer some question above, I am using my Alephs (I actually have two now, bought a second one as a replacement unit when I got to perform live for a big theatre play every night for two months and realized my unit was a bit shaky) as synths (using Waves), fx (mostly using Grains now) and cv sequencer indifferently. I have been doing a lot of concerts with them already, and will now start working with both at once, with a grid, an arc and an analog synth.

Would love to see some wave scenes. Have only really focused on lines for the last two years. Really need to sit down and do an entire waves album or something.

This is almost exactly my experience.

…

Out of all the ideas thrown around in the early days, what I still whish for most is more modules, especially the spectral analysis module. That sounded incredible. Time to learn C I suppose

So how would one go about getting meadowphysics to loads? I don’t see it as an operator. I’d like to play with white whale and meadophysics now I have a grid.

I think the ops are called WW and MP. There was a good MP scene floating around on the old forum.

Hi all—what happened to all of the shared Aleph scenes? I can’t find any links that work!

Damn - I was going to post them and never did.

Here’s a Bees scene I worked through this winter and now using very happily. Was so close to selling my aleph, tried to work without it for a long time, but returning to it brought back all the reasons I loved it. I’ll try and make a video of this scene soon as i’m finding it incredibly flexible even though it seems fairly simple up front… mainly it’s designed as a processor, uses Lines for a bunch of delay/pitch and granular processing. I’m especiialy enjoying setting the loops to < 1 sec and making them into a sort of waveshaper thingy. (in Dual Loop mode)
Of course it’s quite an idiosyncratic set-up and may not suit other users (of which I still think there’s only about 5  ) … but i’ve made a pdf that tries to explain it.
buzz me if you do use it and something doesn’t make sense.
(oh it ā€˜really’ needs 2 footpedals to make it work properly)

I still think there’s only about 5
[/quote]I laughed aloud

there has to be more but maybe only 5 are vocal

+1
But as I have no programming skillz I gotta stick with the work of others.
I see a bunch of people following me, shouting ā€œShame! Shame! Shame!ā€ at me.

yeah … i stopped using it for a while to see how it felt… especially thinking about the ā€˜rarity’ of it and what i’d do if i became dependant and then it died/got lost… but then a few weeks ago I took it out, and remembered why it had shaped so much of the way I’ve been working over the last year or two. I tried an Organelle to see if it could replace it, but the physical build of it just wasn’t comfortable for me, plus much more limited in terms of connections I felt.
Once you start trying to find a box with 4 in/outs, 2 foot pedals, individual gain controls. and manipulatable 60sec buffers… it ends up being one of the only things around. (and I don’t even use the CV or synthesis stuff on it) … so I’m going to keep it for now. I’ll try and post a video this weekend.

i don’t contribute much so that was certainly not judgemental

duncan made a good point (which elicited laughter from me) that out of 100 units in the wild it’s quite difficult to account for the full number

many have changed hands and been sold/traded but from the day they all sold out (c. mar/apr 2014) there felt like only 25-50 folks who venture online to chat/share etc

not griping at all but his joke was def worth acknowledging

still personally havent reached my potential with it either
thanks for sharing this scene and many others in the past @dspk
…

aaand now that i’m home and actually start unravelling your scene THIS is why i’m too lazy to build mine from scratch most of the time

between you and test2 i’m totally spoiled
