sounds great, btw if lathes and if there is space for it, we could add a tone/texture for making turntable compositions, and a link with instructions, or maybe that is another project alltogether…

So I have a few choices, really a lot of material here. I am mostly thinking of how long the tracks should be, if there is anything relevant in that question. Is 10 minutes too much?

it’s not. even 15 minutes will be ok

my track (which is recorded but mixed) will be around 4:30 long if it is to any help!

Well I got this 18 minutes long one, put on the forum about a year and half ago, which I am pretty happy about: https://soundcloud.com/ovale/grain-rain
Basically one Telecaster guitar, one nasty distortion pedal and one sweet reverb on top of the Aleph, using the Grains module and a few tricks. All live, no cuts. Otherwise, if it is too long I am mixing another one, very different and about 8 to 10 minutes long. Let me know what you think, as I won’t cut in the 18 minutes to fit in. I’ll post the next one later today hopefully.

… and here is today’s batch: https://soundcloud.com/ovale/the-screaming-fraction-of-a-grain
This one is about 7:30 long, and is very different. Here it’s mostly the Aleph (with Grains, again), a Macbeth Elements as the source of sound, a distortion and a reverb. All done live, and no mastering at this stage.
Let me know which one suits the compilation the best. Thanks again for your patience!

would be cool to see something from

didn’t succeed in getting a good mix of a new work, so i’ll dm a link to an older thing that uses aleph a bunch.

i need to make music more often, so this process feels more natural.

I am willing to, yes. It is going to be a bit complicated, mostly because every one of us will have a completely different sound and because I am super busy right now, but I’ll do it.

Sooooo do we have everything now?

… and well received. Good job everybody, now it is my turn. It might take a bit of time, but it will eventually be done. What format are we looking for, just so I know?

I’ve used atomic disc a few times for limited cd runs, they will do 50 for about $140 after shipping (the shipping is a lot for some reason…maybe the weight?). Although for a physical release I’ve been into tapes lately. Any other thoughts?

So, I have now been listening carefully to all the tracks. We do need to decide on the order of tracks before proceeding, though. Should I give it a go, or does anybody have a specific say on that matter? There are some clear themes in my opinion, mostly 3 types of tracks (dramatic development, rhythmical energy, sound experiment) and hybrid ones (which can link the different types), and I think we should follow that… I just don’t want to go to the next step before I have a green light!

not having heard all tracks (and teeny bit wary of the elongated ‘everyone has a say’ approach) why don’t you make a suggested order first?
