are you going to put those on bandcamp?

they aren’t necessarily small, but they’re much more affordable and I haven’t had any issues w/ them: https://www.amazon.com/Sumnacon-Stackable-Silicone-Multimeter-Electrical/dp/B07179VF5J/

Almost certainly at least one

As a followup: I found that Control Mod have bananas. I already have an account there and I like their store, so I picked some up from them. They have both Pomona in various lengths / colors (but are currently out of stock) as well as Buchla cables (in stock!). They have 4" purples, so I nabbed five of them.

I can vouch for these cables also. Certainly not as stout as Pomona, but definitely in the al dente department if these were spaghetti.

The 4" cables are just about perfect. I had borrowed some 18" leads from work and it was just a mess. These are nice and tidy. They can’t quite make the longest diagonal connections, but I could always double them up. It’s a start, as far as bananas go.

While we’re on cables, how many of what size should I get for a Double Knot?

they don’t need to be long, but if you want to get particularly wonky rhythms, you’d be well served by a decent stash.

Did you end up finding a DK?

I’ve estimated 10 x 4" cables and 5 x ~7". That sound about right?

I did!

not 100% on the length, but 15 cables will certainly allow for some fun times  I tend to overpatch things, so I might go closer to 20, but if it’s your only piece of banana equipment that’s certainly a fine starting point. You can always buy more and that’ll give you a decent foundation for playing around.

has anyone here used the cv generated by the mosstone touch keyboard to modulate an external oscillator? I can’t figure out in the manual if this is something one can feasibly accomplish (bc the banana jacks on the back are only cv inputs, yes?)

Yeah CV/gate on the back is CV in. You can use a banana to jack converter if you want to send CV/gate/env etc to other non-banana gear. The stepped/«tuned» CV out from the keyboard is NOT scaled 1v/octave though. So you’ll need to attenuate it/pass it through a quantizer. The reason for this, as I understand is to make it more usefull as a modulation CV for filters etc. Also the upper and lower bar does not affect the CV out.

That being said, it is quite fun to use it to sequence other gear. I’ve used it a lot with my BugBrand system👍🏻

where are the cv outputs for the keyboard sensors? the rise/fall envelope outs?

right, ‘key cv out’ … jacks oriented ‘on the line’ are inputs, so I feel safe to assume A-B-C aren’t outputs. which is unfortunate, insofar as it would be nice to send each sensor cv to multiple inputs. the fact this isn’t an available feature turns me off to the idea of possibly acquiring one again.

I actually used to have a KM but didn’t have the opportunity to send its cv to anything else at the time.

Correct, the A-B-C jacks are inputs.

sorry for the stupid questions.
