Thank you. Yes I just read up on this. Thanks for confirming

I have the same issue with my mosstone. I haven’t noticed any pattern of behavior that would suggest it has anything to do with timing of triggers (or anything else for that matter). Do you have one of the 2nd version mosstones? Easy way to check is the later revision doesn’t have a big S by the sustain toggle. I vaguely remember reading someone talk about this possibly being consistent behavior for all 2nd version units, I might try to dig that up again.
Not a deal breaker for me at all but it is an annoyance, and it rules out being able to toggle the sustain mode strictly in rhythm as a performance possibility.

I get this behavior sometimes and mine is a V1. Dang. I hadn’t thought about how cool it’d be to use the button like that!

Mine seems to be one of the 2nd version. And yes, it’s not really a huge deal but still a bit sad, I’d also love to use the button in a reliable way as an additional performance element…

i’m seeing 220uf on your build, did that work for you?

@crucFX any plan to make the pcbs available? looks great, cheers

Probably - it works and sounds great - but its ungodly quiet lol.
I’ve been a bit lazy lately so I havent taken it apart to see why its so damn quiet.
I breadboarded a 072 based x10 booster and brought it up to proper levels but It SHOULDNT require that dammit. lol

I think I have the parts to breadboard and explore atm but I too am affected by the lazy. Is the low level some property of the original circuit or your version?

finally made a gear vid of all these Double Knot things…
@yobink i used your suggested name for this one. :stuck_out_tongue:
also…it has noiz warping support from three norns each running @dan_derks Cheat Codes 2.

The original PMF PDF has this sentence in it:

This filter design is known for wide variance in volume with changes in resonance, to achive the phase mix trick the output volume is partially controlled by the resonance

I was wondering whether changing the resonance pot might make it louder? What value did you use? If you used a 100k, then maybe changing to a 10k might up the volume? I’m just thinking out loud here!

Anyone else catch this? New LED art object from Lorre Mill. Would love to see a video of the colour changing effect. Looks like it would be a lovely visual companion to their synthesizers.

I just saw this on the website now. I have just ordered a Mosstone which I am very excited about. I noticed that it looks to be discontinued. I wonder if something new is in the works in addition to the Spectral Bloom…

Now I’ve got an idea to DIY a voltage controlled version of this. Each coloured light could be voltage controlled by an LFO or envelope, or by heterodyning an audio signal.

New friend for Double Knot, the Alea by Ouroboros, which at first impression feels like a darker version of the DK. Much experimenting to do!

Wow!! This is very cool. Love to see more synths in the banana groovebox format (maybe my favourite) From the demos the LPG definitely has a different character from the Double Knot. I’m curious, I went over the manual briefly, and listened to some demos, can Alea generate pitch CV from the shift register like the double knot? I see the individual gate outputs, and most of the demos are rhythmic in nature, not melodic.

(not my demo)

this sounds fabulous!! Thanks for finding this!

I wrote to the maker of the Alea and they said they weren’t sure that it wouldn’t damage the DK because the outputs all peak at 9v so I ended up not ordering it. Let us know how well it plays with the DK because they seem like a perfect pair minus the voltage differences.

Yeah would be curious about this…looking at the manual…internally the double knot operates 0-9v and it’s all going into opamps, otas and robust 4000 chips so I can’t imagine it matters, but would be good to know for a project I’m working on in case someone wanted to interface with double knot (mine also spits out 9v triggers)
