Working on a Walking Ring PCB - anyone know what the 2 asterisks are (Range) next to the 2 caps?
is it another cap?

So I just got the Double Knot MK2/Keyed Mosstone combo tonight and I’m REALLY blown away.

Coming from Buchla, Serge & CL it was super easy to get going and patching became intuitive almost instantly. (A big thanks to Allieway Audio and the YouTube demos for making diving in a breeze :raised_hands:)

They look and feel fantastic. I was expecting this and was not disappointed.

What I wasn’t expecting though was how BIG and well refined the sound is.

Is it just me or do these little boxes seem SUPER dialed in?

I was prepared to be a little disappointed and kind of just wanted to try them but HOLY CRAP do they ever sound and play amazing.

I literally couldn’t find anything but sweet spots and that seems so rare on a modular instrument?

I just uploaded my first attempt at a “random arp” with the Mosstone.

While building the patch I found that running the triangle out to the exponential FM input creates a sawish? wave that seems much softer around the edges for plucky type patches!

The rest of the patch is pretty obvious for anyone familiar with the Mosstone (I think )!

And whilst here, why not share my recent live playtime with the Bugbrand PT Delay and my Lorre Mill set up. Thought that some of you might enjoy it

That was my first thought about the DK, it sounds insanely good. I really thought it was just gonna be a fun little experimental banana box (which it is), but yeah I couldn’t believe how rich and full sounding it is.

Def enjoyed but while I’m here, why not enjoy again :joy:

Agreed Steven. I’m really blown away. So happy I finally bit the bullet :black_heart:

I have the v1 double knot, and I swear that the low end with some fm gets into the zone of my music easel. Really well-designed machine.

Speaking of, here’s a few recent pieces with the Easel and the Double Knot. Great pairing!

When I’ve used it live on decent PA’s the low end in my V1 Double Knot can be just insane. Enough to move the bowels of every spectator. Mammoth!

I’m really keen on the Keyed Mosstone but they seem to be unavailable. Does anyone have any info on this or maybe have one that’s gathering moss? I am wondering whether to get the Double Knot in the meantime as it seems that they are well loved and a great combo with the Mosstone.

i would start with a DK first to dive in.

i have both but the DK tends to get more attention.
:stuck_out_tongue:
i have three DK v1 and two DK v2.
i’ll be selling the version 1’s soon.
it’s crazy awesome to generate that much noiz out of them all at once but…heh…i am good with two.

I think he is building more now too, but I second what SPIKE says too

Can’t wait to test this bad boy out!

Another quick Double Knot clip - this time running it into the Echo Degrader, a really gnarly PT2399 delay pedal, and BAM for a bit of reverb. I feel like I can’t overstate how much I love using the DK in tandem with delays.

I think I need to reflow somethings - It sounds beautiful but it’s super quiet :\
