My guess would be that it is indeed a modular version of the teletype app, so you have 8 triggers and you can connect a USB keyboard to program what each trigger does with the 4 CV (A-D) and 4 trigger outputs. The additional input could be for CV control which you could use as an additional variable.

Given there’s a limited number of commands, maybe entering them via a rotary or via a grid wouldn’t be terrible?
