Does the teletype us F-keys Like f1-2-3 etc? I know it uses arrows, but am wondering if I need F for external keyboard.

F1 - F10 are used to manually trigger scripts. This is kind of important, especially for triggering the Init script (F10) while working on a scene.

Amazing! Thanks so much

Nice Minivan! That Paperwork mash-up looking nice!

Thanks, this is my first mechanical keyboard and I couldn’t be happier with it. I know it’s naive but the fact that you can program layer is revolutionary for me.

I’ve been contemplating getting a minivan, but the lack of numerical keys available without using an auxiliary layer keeps me from pulling the trigger. How do you feel about the ease of changing/using multiple layers especially when numerics are regularly used with teletype?

IMO it’s easy and intuitive because you can put them (numbers and layer keys) wherever works best for you.

FYI Evan mentioned in a recent newsletter that he’s shutting down operations, so if you’re interested in getting one now is the time.

I don’t mean to encourage anyone’s GAS, but just wanted to let you know in case you hadn’t heard. I can’t find any mention of it on the site…

hmm. I’ve had my eye on one of those for a little while. Did he give a time or are there just going to be 1000 mechanical keyboard enthusiasts reloading the page all day?

Don’t know. One could always just visit the MechMarket on reddit and get one there.

edit: Evan will post on his instagram when the sale opens.

Was definitely not planning on buying a minivan today. Just ordered. Thanks a lot, now I need to go decide on keyswitches and caps and…

I have no problem switching between layers. The layers can be one of a variety of triggering mechanisms: latched, momentary or dual action. I chose to have a couple of layers latched for using one handed. I have a cheat sheet with me until I become familiar with the layout. Numbers are on a momentary layer across the top row. Really easy.

Flipping guttered that I missed the sale. I really wanted a roadkit.

Found this really cheap mechanical keyboard, was gonna use it for a future teletype and orca on the norns.

But what would be the annoyances of using a Swedish layout in comparison to a us layout?
i know that some things is in different spots but are those symbols used frequently?

My educated guess is that it’ll function like a regular US keyboard, it’s just that the markings are not where they’re supposed to be.

What is it, if i can ask? The keyboard.

Its by Deltaco, a Swedish company that import stuff and brands it their own. i guess its made by one of the Chinese mech-keyboard manufacturer.

It’s around 39$ on sale which isn’t that cheap, but no shipping fee and 5years guarantee sounded nice

The only thing i hate is the spacebar…

If your Teletype is from the latest revision (black PCB) then you’ll be fine, but if it’s not a very recent one then chances are the backlighting will not play well with TT. I had to return the first mechanical keyboard I got for my Teletype because the backlighting made TT crash. I’m using a Magicforce68 now (same price range and quite nice), which works without any issue at all.

It also have an US layout, which is good for Teletype (my usual home/work keyboards are all in Japanese and I intended to modify the code to support that layout but it turned out not to be an issue as TT code is pretty sparse anyway, and keyboars are more easily found with US layouts).

Don’t have a teletype yet, but after being here on the forums a couple of months I don’t think it will be long hehe. Just got my DIY norns shield in the mail!

Was looking at the magic force, but I can’t find it under 670sek - around 67usd anywhere…

Maybe I could just change some of the keycaps :face_with_monocle:

Update: went with a rk61 black with gold backlight, to get the english layout. got it for around 37usd including shipping. brown switches. gonna need a new yellow oled for my norns hehe. the er-301 is allready a match!
