+1 for Swinsian
great librarian system…

For general music listening I just use Amazon Music (have a prime account so it is free).

I still like getting CD’s, and having the music automatically added to my library is very convenient.

I know it’s Amazon and all (boo hiss etc…:grinning:)… but it just works so effortlessly.

Not gonna lie, I miss having a zune just because I thought their desktop program was pretty good.

3 days in i am quite liking Vox. the ability to sync my existing library with my phone is cool. and the interface is super simple (i.e. doable whilst driving).

This past weekend, I set up a plex server for my music with an old laptop I’m not really using anymore.

I also have file sharing turned on so that I can move audio files I download from the mac I use day to day into my plex music library folder. There’s a setting in plex that auto-watches this folder and auto-updates the player.

So far, I am impressed with the audio quality, as well as the UI/UX of the player app. It kind of feels like if the newer-style iTunes worked well, hah.

I have yet to pay for the premium version (which allows you to stream on your phone). I may, though I am fine with sticking with spotify/bandcamp for on-the-go listening.

I just moved from streaming services to Musicbee to manage my local library but also considering Mopidy + Covergrid for an everyday usage.
For me the importance lies with the interface, I love to be able swipe through album covers, my brain cannot deal with text lines and I don’t like to pick and choose songs individually.
