that’s basically been my performance setup for the last few months. I’m working on something that’ll encapsulate all that functionality (+ more) into one device with more routing options

@andrew
Anaphora + remix make great team
Question : does it have inner-looping 'cause it does not seems to work for me
thx

nope - basically, I never got this app to the place I wanted it to be, then tried my best to squeeze out a finished product the day I uploaded it. better things soon !

are you using them both on the same grid tho ? how’s that working for you ?

I’m using them on same grid (128 mono) and it work fine also with a 64 mono with re:mix and the 128 with anaphora.
ps : the pattern recording was funky to work out on mono

A little O-Coast & Earthsea into this rad M4L device. Thanks @andrew!

! ooo - a gorgeous example of what 1 voice + looping can get for you

also a good reminder to port earthsea which should b very easy after having fixed a bunch of bugs in lim today & yesterday :muscle:

Thank you! I should mention that I was able to hotswap between ableton & ansible with no issues in that little example

yea!! if I remember correctly the old serialosc didn’t handle hot-swapping the USB quite as well but I’ve rewritten parts of it to improve that ! glad I didn’t do it for no reason

is everyone getting led feedback? i wonder what i have done wrong here.

@dude you have a 40h right ? my guess is those don’t support the /grid/led/level/map messages I’m sending to the grid

gonna summon @tehn to conform / advise the best way to support all grids

it’s a greyscale 64 monobright rubber skin one

Hot-swapping is great in my situation running Ansible & M4L devices back and forth with only one grid  I appreciate it!

So, a couple of issues:

  • I record a loop into channel one, play it back, all sounds OK. Assign channel two to same buffer, hit playback… and the gain level is much, much lower. Three and Four are at the same gain level.
  • pattern recording - doesn’t always seem to behave. Noticeably, when I have multiple channels playing from the same buffer, sometimes, patterns I record just don’t do anything even though the grid ā€˜playback’ light is lit up. Before I investigate further - are there limitations on pattern recording I should understand?

This reminds me :
It’s pretty easy at this point to have a version of earthsea / meadowphysics if you’re a non eurorack user be it with M4L or norns or whatever. However I’ve looked on lines many times for a port of White Whale and couldn’t find anything. I thought it would show up on norns soon enough seeing how sequencing oriented a lot of scripts are, but still no luck there. Is there a particular difficulty porting this one? Or some technicality that makes it not that interesting outside of the modular realm?

@infovore that is soooo beautiful!! i’m really jealous of the led feedback.

@infovore thx for the feedback! ~ yr throwing me for a loop tho cause you’ve got anachronism loaded up in that video - are these bugs in anachronism or anaphora ? (confusing naming system, I know. just found out they are greek.)

for no particular reason in both these apps the pattern record only records the row. I should explain that probably

doh. let me double-check everything, and put the video in the right channel, I’ve been using both apps.

rapid testing with 4 instances. it seems to work
that’s neat !

ps : it works till I start messing with the buffers

i did get led feedback going on my grayscale 64. bless the powerful @andrew for week after week patience and nail on head accurate guidance.

by chance, does anyone have a quick video of how the playheads travel? i am wondering if something is amiss, kinda wondering if it is a mono vs varibright issue i think i’m having plus and orientation aspect. i will try to put a video up when i can.

this is sooo exciting!!! i hope to post some of my m4l ports and stuff rodrigo made in library soon if folks are wanting: 2 new @Rodrigo patches (fx) and an old raja custom port and monolase.
