My ARC and Ansible will be here tomorrow! Totally stoked. I am drooling over some of these Max ARC apps. besides grainstorm are there any must haves?
I would try all of @stretta’s. edw is pretty amazing. Be warned that a bunch of the old arc patches don’t quite work out of the box. (Or didn’t for me.) I’ve been meaning to do a more thoughtful survey of what does and doesn’t work but have been too busy fiddling with some max patching of my own. Anyway, if you do play around with things do post your experiences. You won’t be the only one looking for treasures… I’d be happy to help sort things out the best I can as well.

cool thank you. I’ve been running max since 1999 so i am hopeful i can figure out a few things. And i have a few plans to make a app for a Xenakis patch i wrote in grad school and some jitter insanity too. This weekend is going to be fun

Serious question, do you like the Arc more in front or behind the Monome? These are the types of questions that drive you nuts as you wait for delivery haha
probably depends on the app also arm length / hand size, playing style, etc
I prefer the arc closer for fine adjustments (in fact often to the right of the grid since I had an arc 2)
this setup was determined by length of the USB
Mine sits closer at the moment. Seems to make more sense to me.
@laborcamp, Is this the 2013/2014 walnut monome plus new arc? how do the differing heights/materials feel? I’ll be in this boat as well when my arc arrives
yes. it feels like I want them to match, of course it also feels a little gluttonous to feel that way. but…
yea, I’m hoping I just embrace it, but have a suspicion it will leave me wanting a matching set. from your pic, it still looks nice as a combo. any chance the arc knobs are close to the height of the grid? that might curb my OCD a little

looks like I’m a little late and ARCs are out everywhere. is there any chance to get one in the next 2-3 weeks?
we’ll have a new batch ready hopefully within 3 weeks. waiting on a new batch of parts.
