I have noticed this problem with my set up and tested quite a few things today so I thought I’d post some details in case it clarifies/ helps anyone else out. All ansible modes with grid aluminium 128 make the noise, getting much louder as more lights light up, I’ve tried multiple different positions and with variety of modules in the same case which makes no difference, I have tried 4ms row power 40 and 30, significantly under their draw limits (104hp mostly mutable), also rosie as output if that’s significant. It seems less noticeable in my small 84hp mostly mannequins case with row power 40 but still there. Then I tried powering with monome switch but powering from the spare out on the row power (something I think @tehn suggested is fine to do) and it didn’t change anything (I thought that might have helped a little at least). So I’ve used a completely separate power supply for switch and finally no whining. So that’s a solution for those who have 2 supplies and a monome switch, other than that I might try the power splitter people are posting so that I can use something with my smaller case.
@scanner_darkly how easy would it be to make the ‘play progress’ bar on earthsea much dimmer (one of the lowest brightnesses would be fine), as this is the main culprit a the moment, I hear the whine build to quite loud as the buttons all light along the top row and then drop to much quieter. Sorry to even ask, earthsea is such an amazing addition to ansible, but I have zero coding experience and (at least personally), this would make a big difference to my 2 ansibles.
Thanks all.
