Apple Magic Trackpad as MIDI XY Input on Windows

Long shot. Anyone using an Apple Magic Trackpad as a MIDI XY input device on Windows?

no magic trackpad and no windows over here, but there seems to be a very helpful max external for this.
Relevant discussion over here:
Max/MSP multi touch
Fingerpinger – this is genius!

Thanks Red. That looks to be exactly the thing needed but the external is only for Mac!

ah, ok. Sorry I haven’t looked closely and didn’t notice that.
but the source is also available here…maybe someone can help out and compile a windows version??

I can’t see any source files in your link. Maybe you meant to copy this one? http://www.anyma.ch/software/fingerpinger2010-12-30_source.zip

Anyway, compiling it for windows is a good idea. Taking a look, the main file is only 186 lines of code. Perhaps not so much to port for someone with the ability. (I don’t know C++). The code does depend on

#include "ext.h"
#include "ext_common.h"
#include <unistd.h>
#include <assert.h>
#include <vector>
#include <algorithm>
#include <CoreFoundation/CoreFoundation.h>
#include "MultitouchSupport.h"

Not sure how much of that will have direct Windows counterparts.
