cant wait to find out more about the crow. i know @tehn hinted that it could be used with other computers. would linking two of these together work like a es-8? could i use crow with vcv rack? just thinking “typing” out loud here while i compulsively refresh everything.

If you want to/can help you can test this PR and let the developers know if it works for you

Dev work on teletype must have been a nightmare!

if it’s off, yes. charging is limited to 500ma. but if it’s running something cpu heavy and lighting a grid and charging you’ll want to use the charge we provide-- it’s 2.4A with a little over 5V to account for voltage drop over the cable at high current.

that said, i charge the norns off my macbook without issues, while running scripts and grids etc. basically norns will take all the power it can get, and apple computers are good at limiting current due to iphone charging etc.

noob question: isn’t this something we’d want in the control layer?

Will that be a US adapter? or is it the kind of thing I can add a UK plug to?

otherwise just leave it out and I’ll get one over here

That would be my sense, as well.

Edit: or at least accessible/visible to the control layer.

Not a chance on my side, I don’t supercollider and there are only so many hours in a day…

The fabric finish on the surface of norns is making more sense now.

it’s a US adapter but voltage compatible so you’ll need a cheap plug converter.

Nice. Thanks. 20 characters

The upcoming (in the next month?) version of SuperCollider will have Ableton Link support - so the same support for Norns may be only a very short hop away from that.

What excellent news! (having never looked into it)

Quick question :
How much storage can we expect ? Can I load audio files from a usb hard drive ?

4gb of internal storage. an yes, you can load from a usb drive.

That’s what i assumed, thank you very much.
So i could potentially “browse” into the hard drive and “drop” files folders in a live situation ?
(thinking of a potential dj app)

Already mentioned above as a near-term development but not ready yet.

fyi the os/etc is at least 1.5g of that space. we’ll prioritize getting external disk interaction into the system.
