“took delivery of grid” Used grid? Thought they weren’t available…

I’m with you @jasonw22 and @Starthief - I can’t stop seeing “noms” due to the kerning and small font size on my laptop. I’ve read the thread religiously and honestly was surprised when I went to purchase my unit on the monome site and saw it in all caps for the first time. Now, I’m having a hard time giving up “noms” in my head. Perhaps my norns will be named noms…

Analogue Haven had some in stock a couple of days ago, but it seems they’re now out. At least the re-stock is coming soon!

As a long-time SuperCollider user, seeing monome embrace SC with the release of norns is very exciting. It is kind of my dream machine and very much what I wished Aleph was. I have tons of SuperCollider patches that I’ve performed with over the years that I plan on immediately loading onto norns. This system will enable me to more fludily move between my various patches and interfaces. I also think this interest in norns will be very good for the SC community as a whole. Thank you!

I definitely look forward to adapting them to the system and will post/share what seems useful/appropriate.

Haven’t ordered one yet, but hopefully will soon when some funds come in (if there are some still available).

Definitely have lots of ideas of spinning on what to make.

LUA is loosly-typed like JavaScript if I remember correctly. You don’t need to worry about what type of data a variable is. LUA and JavaScript are both about equally good starter languages in my mind. The nice thing about JavaScript is that it’s not just made for beginners. LUA is kind of nice because it uses actual words, which I guess some people like.

Wow great and unexpected choice going with Lua. I’ve never played with it before but digging in now and it looks like such a great match for creative code. So readable. I also can’t wait to see how the gui is scripted, as that’s more my game.

It also dawned on me why the timing and positioning of Norns is so great (for me at least). I kind of only really want a portable computer for music performance, it’s a terrible time to buy a Mac laptop and, the Mac Mini is laughable at this point. I think Norns became my “computer” upgrade for the year.

I had the exact same thought. Instead of purchasing a new computer this year I’m getting norns and upgrading my 2011 Macbook Pro because I just realized it was one of the last models where you could actually upgrade the RAM and drives (!)
