Is everything in batch one shipped out yet? I have order 2295. Starting to get a little nervous…

Not yet. More details a few days ago.

My batch one Norns (and Grid!) are en route to Australia now. Going to be an agonising wait - and then a very steep learning curve. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all!

Have you been able to figure out if runes are present in the Norns version? It doesn’t seem like they are.

Question: Are the 1/4" inputs and outputs mono or stereo?

The headphone (leftmost) output is stereo, the others are mono.

@Jonathan_Riley No I haven’t been able find any runes present- it’s a pretty simple version as far as I can tell.

correct, no runes in this early earthsea version. i’ll be building it out over time.

re: mlr voices. yes, right now there are four. though i plan to build it out to 7 tracks— it will still have four voices, much like the earlier mlr with mute groups. (there are a whole lot of other functions/features on the list for mlr)

Wow 12 apps quite a lot to play with upon arrival , I believe the web site only mentions like 7 different ways to use it. I know the doc’s are coming but Any chance someone can specify what the different apps are? for those of us anxiously waiting for shipping notification

So am I correct in thinking that the “mlr” part of mlr is all in Lua? (with the underlying SC bit for that just being the sampler core that @zebra built?)

Or rather, is all the jump/slice/mute functionality all in SC with only the LED/grid/enc stuff being in Lua?

(I’m mainly curious to see how complex the Lua stuff is for something as complex/robust as nMlr)

Is there anything specific people want to see with norns? I can try to accommodate when filming tonight (at least for the scripts I understand lol).

anything you’ve got will be nice but i’d love to see some pretty mundane things…

  • boot time

  • switching between scripts (showing load time)

  • removing/adding scripts from maiden via wifi

I’d want to see loading new sample files onto the device.

Unless it’s meant to be ‘not public’ until it’s properly public, it would be great to see one of the scripts in its entirety.

yeah actually

might not need video for that if they fit within a screenshot or something

hey all, apologies for the delay. prioritizing getting units built/shipped inevitably pushed docs down.

scripts repository will be public quite soon. keep in mind this isn’t a “study” with copious explanations… but there are some documented scripts. of course lua is also quite self-explanatory (most of the time)

re: loading new samples onto device. use a USB thumbdrive, FAT formatted. do SYSTEM > SYNC (to disk). then put this disk in your computer. add audio files (aif, wav, at 48k) to dust/audio (here you can also pull your TAPE files off). once new files are on the disk, put it back in norns, do SYSTEM > SYNC (from disk) and that’ll copy the files to your onboard audio folder.
