I’d love to add an orientation option because having the cable coming out the left side of my arc is annoying in my current setup. Something I’ll look in to this summer.

/sys/rotation i <degrees>
rotate the monome by degrees, where degrees is one of 0, 90, 180, 270.

I don’t know if this works with arcs, but could be worth a shot!

grid rotation is in the norns code, but I don’t think it’s exposed to the user via a menu option just yet.

arc code does not have rotation just yet.

I’ll take a look at what it would take to add arc rotation in the next couple weeks. I had a prototype working in the arcify library but it’s something that belongs in the core libs.

FWIW - I did the grid rotation code and could probably add arc rotation pretty quickly. What’s taken a long time has been getting some UI for it added to menu.lua

Questions related to Arc.
In particular I want to know if in combination with Ansible it’s possible to use 2 rings with Level and 2 rings with Cycle.
Thank’s.
I hope I haven’t created a post similar to other existing ones!

No, they are separate modes/applications.

thank you! Yes I saw that there are 2 different applications but maybe some genius had found a way to do it: D

It’s not impossible that somebody could create an alternate firmware, but I’m not aware of any in progress for Arc/Ansible.

Probably not the right place for this but I’d love to be able to use my W/ with the Arc as I think it’s obvious how the Arc would be the perfect interface for it.

Love my Arc, but of my encoders has some annoying jiggle to it and doesn’t feel quite like the others. I tried tightening the two screws with no luck. I’m afraid to dig any deeper into the Arc without guidance. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

email info@monome.org and we’ll figure it out!

New member here… I just picked up an Arc controller but one of the knobs is loose… does anyone have any idea how I could fix this? Is there a link to how to disassemble one? Many thanks…

I think the best way forward is to email info@monome.org about it!

I had a similar issue and sent an email to Brian, then shortly after stumbled upon this thread explaining how to fix it… It was a really simple fix.

Thank you so much for the info!

sorry if this is out of line, but I haven’t looked at the arc series since their development. is it true that modern arcs do not have push button functionality? I can’t find any clear answers. I think they’re beautiful devices but for my own needs I can’t justify the $ if they don’t have pushes. maybe they do but the docs aren’t clear… thanks in advance

The push button functionality has been abandonned since V2, but there are many ways to circumvent that loss, and the new arcs have much better resolutions. I think most people using Arcs didn’t use push button this extensively anyway as that’s not the main interest of the device. You’ll find a lot of info on that here anyway  but I just wanted to simply answer your question :

No, no push button on newer arcs.

thank you! much appreciated.

I wasn’t as smart as you and only found out about that after I bought an Arc in 2019. I used to own a Push button Arc, so I was very disappointed to find out that this functionality is missing nowadays. A few months later I sold the 2019 Arc because if the missing push buttons – but also because the existing applications for Arc didn’t feel like must haves to me. So I completely agree with your assessment: beautiful, but I couldn’t justify the price for my purposes.
