Ok, admittedly I have a very nooby question to throw out there regarding Arclab. More of an Ableton question than a monome question (my computer recognizes the Arc just fine). Let’s say I want to use Rhythm Generator. What do I have to do in Ableton and the m4l rhythm generator device to actually trigger, say, drums (I’m not the most Ableton-literate)? I’m able to play around with the rate, density, etc. on my arc, I’m just not quite sure how to make it all work with instruments. In these instances, I wish there was some kind of tutorial…

Put the rhythm generator on a track. Put i.e. a drumrack on the same track. Press play in Ableton (you will hear nothing if you don’t press play). Enjoy.

Aha, thanks so much! I’ll try this when I get home. Does the same logic apply for other arclab devices, such as quad lfo?

yeah, put the device in the same track that you want the LFO to affect. The quad LFO, for instance, will want you to click the “map” button and then twiddle the control that you would like the LFO to affect.

When opening Arclab ArcControl, the js script was missing for me. I plugged in your code, but looks like line six has an illegal character? Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like normal quotes " were replaced by smart quotes “ and ”

But I’m baffled how you’re getting the stretta gridlab devices installed without the included js

if there’s anything I’ve learned from trying to distribute .amxd’s with dependencies it’s that it’s extremely unpredictable - as far as I can tell some people are just downloading my patches and they always end up with something missing

Is there a way to see output routing for Stretta’s Gridlab Patchers (Dharma, ArcControl, etc)? Similar to all the monome patchers.

Sorry for necrobumping. First days diving deep into Arc / Monome universe. Using now Electric Dharma Wheels with big joy (Live 10, Max 8). One thing I can’t understand: how is this thing clocked? When I change tempo in Live, the tune goes unaffected. When I press “stop”, the LEDs stop moving, but the sound plays happily on. Would be nice to play along a clock, know the BPM etc.

Yes it is. But the Arc seems totally independent from Live’s tempo control. I even imagine that having the old Max only version I could inject or extract a clock some how and send it to my modular etc. But here the wheels seem to be in a free run totally.

Yep, EDW… I remember using it before Gridlab, when it was a standalone app. And yes, you set the speed with the way you turn the encoder. I don’t remember of any notion of tempo. Will check…

I am new to the monome world but now am very pleased exploring the polygome app in Strettas gridlab m4l iteration. Indeed! Whatever I darn to press - it just sounds beautiful )

BUT. I would like to understand what I am actually doing. Very dumb, I know. But this is so universal and neat.

Someone out there using it? What exactly does the top row do? Is there a way to control the scales switching? How do I save the pressed patterns? Is there a manual of sorts?
