i’m potentially going to give an arcologies workshop for music hackspace. this would be a 2 hour deep dive. if this type of thing is of interest, what time would work best for you?

  • 10:00 PDT / 17:00 UTC weekday
  • 10:00 PDT / 17:00 UTC saturday or sunday

Just can’t get enough of this app. I keep discovering so many cool things. Can’t wait for the “auton” cell to drop. Do you have an idea of when you may be realeasing it?
That’s going to be a game changer for me.

One thing I’m having trouble with is external sync. Is the Global clock incorporated?
I can’t seem to get crow to clock it. Sorry if it’s user error.

Another idea/ question I had was adding ansible support via i2c - like the Fugrac app. Is this something you have considered? It would give you 4 more cv/gates to control a system. Could be a lot of fun!

global clock isn’t up and running yet. not user error. he has mentioned its on the horizon.

I got out of euro but kept a happy ending kit… damn it! auton may pull me back lol

Thanks for that info! Good to know its not user error and great to know its on the horizon.
Yup, auton will be so good! Hopefully it will have both poly mode and individual voice allocation but that might mean two cells.
Nothing wrong with rebuilding a little system around a crow and JF. I know if I ever get out of euro i’ll be keeping those two modules and my ER-301.

i’ll look into i2c ansible. didn’t know that was a thing.

and yeah more midi stuff is coming once i get some hardware to test it with. i sold pretty much all my gear a few years ago so external sync etc. will be in a couple weeks.

there have been very few bug reports so… the auton’s are coming soon!!!

v1.0.6

  • CHANGE Uxbs and casinos now have a duration attribute to control how long a note plays. This will affect older arcologies. To update your save files, set the duration of uxbs and casinos to 16.

i did as much as i could for midi with the limited gear i have. any rec’s for a (minimal) piece of gear that can clock and send start/stop messages? i was looking at the beatstep pro.

Beatstep Pro should be cool. I’m pretty sure that the Keystep sends start/stop too and is a little cheaper.

v1.1.0 “eternal september”

  • NEW Hyrdoponics structure. Yeah… for growing food… right.
  • NEW Institution structure. Steel and glass, a prototypical Augéian non-place. They don’t last long anymore.
  • NEW Mirage structure. From a fringe phenomenon to an everyday occurrence, no one could have anticipated what myriad of new mirages the anthropocene would cook up.
  • NEW Bank structure. It depends how you count.
  • NEW Auton structure. Every Auton was a fragment of the Consciousness…
  • NEW Added parameter for “designer jump” - when disabled you will not jump to the cell designer page when creating a new cell. Now you can stare at the analysis page forever.
  • DEV Old save files have a separate load routine than new ones.
  • DEV Replace instances of ' with ". Old habits die hard.

+1 on midi channel. The first thing I looked to do when I learnt casino’s etc was to point them at a midi/cv interface with x channels. Loving playing with Arcologies

alright, midi channels will be in the next release. so i’m thinking it will be simply channel: 1-16? is there any “next level” midi stuff we should do? send to all even channels… send to prime number channels… lol cc/ @kasselvania

One addition I think would be really cool would be to have controls to constrain the min and max note pitch (as per Vales), but universally for the whole Arcology (so on same menu as Key and Scale).

Often when Seeding it results in notes that are in very low and high registers. I can reign these in manually by going through the different Cells (which is fine), but some form of master control would make it really quick and easy.

Implementing that would be :sparkles: :ok_hand:

Whoa. Just selecting 1-16 is enough for me. I could be cool to have one that will randomly (or methodically) jump between a user defined range of channels. That could be cool for something like the volca sample where each sample part has its own midi channel…

This looks bonkers! I’m so behind on everything these days, looks like I know what I’m doing tonight.
