yessir!

thought you all might enjoy this. troubleshooting… at the laundromat

big ole progress going on here…

i installed bonjour print services (i still don’t know why it is necessary)…

i rebooted and all of a sudden serialosc is running!

i opened up monome_test_5, and it is working! i also tested nerdscroll…and it worked fine!

last problem: the leds are not lighting to their full brightness… they light up at full brightness when i plug them into the usb port initially, but now when the apps are using them… any ideas as to why that could be happening?

fyi, i fully intend on completely uninstalling everything and reinstalling to ensure it is repeatable… (i’m not sure how to uninstall oscserial, though)… i’ll then write a full guide for those that are interested in reviving their old arduinomes…in windows 7 at least :D.

try “monome home” as it has brightness controls.

glad you got it working!

thanks! it’s working intermittently…not 100% stable… i had it working last evening (at the laundromat), but am trying to get it going again this morning…

serialosc is still running in the task manager, so that’s a plus… stay tuned

EDIT: it is working again. i had to reboot…also, when using monomehome, the leds are full brightness. i’m not sure why they weren’t last night! next test, monome_sum!

monome_sum seems to be working, but is really unstable.

i can’t always change apps using the top smallbatch window… other times, everything will be working fine, and then i won’t be able to switch between apps, or the button presses on the arduinome stop registering…

not sure what could be the problem…serialosc? any thoughts?

i wonder if the instability is due to the fact that i am not using an external soundcard?

Used to have a grid a few years ago, I bought it off eBay. I believe it was a 40h kit. I’d like to get a 64 button grid for my music again but can’t afford to get the 128 on the website and most 64s are like 300-400 USD on eBay and Reverb. Any way I can build one for ~200USD max? Is arduinome still well documented?

There are a whole bunch of these threads scattered about. I wonder if they need merging, or tagging, or something to pull them together? Not sure how to get the attention of the mods…

i have a 40h still in kit form that could use a home… happy to sell it for less than 200.

Hello everybody,

Since a long time I want to build my monome (an arduinome). I failed two years ago, but now I want to retry the experience.
My goal is to make a monome 256, I tried to find documentation on internet, but I found nothing very effective.
Could you propose me some pdf files to really understand what I need to buy? And how the arduinome will work exactly?
Thank you very much, and have a good day

Guillaume

up? I’m still in research but nothing found…

I am interested in a 128 to be used with ansible. I can afford an ansible, but not a 128, so, I´d like to know…
Is the arduinome (with the 3.3a firmware) compatible with ansible, meaning, no conflicts and varibright?
If not, is the monome kit found on github fully compatible? (same doubts)

The editions page is somewhat confusing about this last one.

Thanks.

The “mk” kit (github version) is non-varibright. “grid kit” (current market.monome.org version) is varibright.

I do not believe arduinome 3.3a supports varibright. No idea if arduinome will work at all with monome eurorack.

Thanks @jasonw22, but I don´t see a grid kit there.

It’s sold out, unfortunately.

Hi Guys

Im pretty certain I was about here in the good old days, i had a 40h and then a number of Livid instruments. Just recently I was gifted an arduinome, pics below, It was working when I got it, i then unplugged the cables as I wanted to fit in a nice new enclosure.

I ordered new ribbons and have plugged in, now I don’t get the start up sequence, the Arduinome is recognised in Max however no button presses are detected and the LED’s arent on, (sometimes they all come on). I havent done the crossed ribbon cables yet as at this point I would be happy with even a reversed nerdscroll.

The RX LED flashes when I run nerd scroll, the TX LED on the start fire board does nothing when I press, I am at my wits end here any help would be appreciated.

Cheers All.

Sounds like something is wrong with the new ribbon cables or the cable connections.

Can you test with the old cables? Was there a reason you replaced them? Are you sure the ribbon cables are all oriented correctly?

Hi,
I have just ordered the components to built an arduinome that I would like to use as a sequencer for my eurorack synthesizer.
I was wondering if the Arduinome could work with this

or if it is possible to send CV directly from the arduino to the Modules.

Thanks to everyone for their time!
