We’ll probably have to wait until the manual comes out to learn? The microbrute manual mentions that, if I recall correctly.

The minibrute 2s looks a little better…it must have been the white keys that were throwing everything off.

While I have never played any of their products, I have always loved that their logo is very nearly the universal anarchy symbol.

That said, I bought an MS-20 Mini a few years ago which was my gateway into modular, something these products could do very well for others.

This is rad. There’s megabrute mod out there too by Leafcutter John that gives the minibrute a good portion of the M2’s patch bay. I’m not sure the policies about linking to the unfortunately named forum so I can take this down if it’s not cool.

Arturia seems to be paying pretty close attention to the modular scene. A little surprised by the dedicated attenuators and the looping AR envelope on the Minibrute 2.

FWIW I’m not aware of anyone having issues with linking to MW threads, especially as many folks here also have accounts and are/were active there, though I can’t speak for anyone else. There is a tremendous wealth of knowledge over there…I just came across a thread from 7-10 years ago in which Danjel from Intellijel was asking questions about a lowpass gate design. Pretty fascinating to see the whole modular community progress!

back on topic:

I agree. The more stuff they release, the more they seem to be embracing Eurorack (MiniBrute with its basic CV, MicroBrute, BS/BSP, Keystep) and it seems like they more or less “get it”. The attenuators, inverter, looping AR (with attack/release CV!), slewed S&H LFO: little details that don’t make any difference to getting headlines, but are really helpful/interesting for actual users.

3U and 6U case system. They aren’t patenting anything about their “Link” physical system so as to allow other manufacturers to design compatible products. I’m personally into it!

Maybe it’s just me but I can’t find any spec for the available Module Depth. Seems a bit weird to not put anywhere, otherwise the Rackbrute does look alright to me.

I guess it’s only marketing but I found this quote pretty sad:

Any glorification of the military is sad, IMO. That quote being used unironically is laughable.

Next up, Sarah Lee changes their slogan to “Let them eat cake!”

I agree the marketese on that website is really incredibly wrong. I mean it would be quite awful even without all the military talk, but so it’s really much worse.
The case looks interesting though, pretty smart design and the price is very… well… Arturialike. Too bad that – as usual – all they say about the PSU are unsupported claims about being great.

I agree about the PSU. I’m extremely new to modular synthesis and am considering building a modular system out of a MicroBrute as a jumping off point, so these new cases are really attractive to an entry-level person such as myself. However, considering what I have learned about building a system, my biggest concerns surrounding these cases are the stability and difficulty of a swap/upgrade in regards to the PSU.
