Yeah, scheduling in advance is the move. How do folks’ calendars look for the weekend of 11/2 (either Saturday or Sunday?)

saturday 11-02 would work for me!

Should work for me too!

I realize that I had a hand in instigating this meetup proposal, unfortunately my life circumstances at the moment (declining canid, intense 4th quarter work commitments) make it unlikely that I can do anything before the end of the year…

So, I hope folks can launch something that I can join in with later…

I so badly want to meet you all and learn from your collective expertise!

We’ll make it happen! Looking forward to meeting you too. I need to see about using my office on a weekend day to host you all – it’s a big space with a PA that would be fun to use for coding/jamming.

Sounds cool…

There is a gentleman here named @Rhialto who has a stunning collection of lovely gear who offered to host a get-together a while back… not sure if he’s still around…

I’m still around and I would be happy to host, assuming my loft is big enough to hold everyone.

Thanks that is very kind!

I’m not sure how many of us there are in the Boston area.

My sense is something in the range of six or so…

I would be very interested in attending some type of norns meetup. I don’t have one but it’s something I’ve been considering to avoid certain modules/a computer but would need to see how the workflow plays out in person.

I’m playing extreme synthesizer at DAP tomorrow with Sterile Garden, Frkse, and Husure Grav. On first at 8ish. https://www.facebook.com/events/2563195047071617

definitely check it out if you like bandpass filters, feedback, field recordings etc.

I’m also djing between bands at the Moon Villain show on Saturday which will be excellent:

Oh that would be fine, I have enough room for that, not a problem. Who wants to organize it?

I went through this thread and from what I can tell, these are the folks who are self-identified as located in MA or RI.

I omitted folks who posted because their tours or personal travels were bringing them to town briefly, also folks from ME. No disrespect intended, just trying to figure out the likely size of local hangouts…

If anyone not listed wants to be added, please chime in!

Oops, due to what I assume is a Discourse rule, I can’t mention more than 10 users in a post, so I’m splitting the list into two posts…

I’m mostly in Rhode Island these days. Recently had a daughter so pretty limited for the next few weeks, but generally interested in all things NYC<—>Boston

FYI, from Boston proper, the closest town in Maine is considerably closer than the furthest town in Rhode Island. Don’t count out our Mainers too easily!

No dis intended!

Please let us know who you are.

Thanks!

Hi all!
I’m James, a 21 year old college student in Boston. I’m very new to the lines community and my knowledge of producing electronic music is pretty sparse. I’ve done some tape music in the past but as a coder I would love to start learning Max/Msp (it’s hard to come by 250 bucks as a college student lol) but anyhow I’m located in Allston and would love to learn whatever I can about electronic production and max!

No event page up yet, but mark your calendars for 11/11 (Veteran’s day!) – we’ll be hosting a great lineup of nearly a dozen acts for SuddenFest at Dorchester Art Project from 2pm-12am!

There will be a mix of live improvised groups, electronic musicians, and mixed works.

I’ll post more details soon
