Hey guys,

Really awesome forum you’ve got here, my kind of place!

Me and my bro have been building a live music production app for the past while and we’re looking for musicians, controller enthusiasts, producers etc to give us their feedback on what we’re creating and help us shape the product into something revolutionary for music making.

It’s called KRFT and we’ve dubbed it a “modular instrument for music production”. Our aim is to disrupt how people make music and open up new workflows and styles of music production.

We released in Feb and have been getting some amazing feedback from the iOS music making community. Of course we didn’t want to be confined to only using iOS synths so we decided to add MIDI out. Now you can use it to control software (e.g. Ableton) as well as hardware synths etc.

As the app isn’t your typical DAW or sequencer it’s a little tricky to explain, so best to check out our website and watch some videos if you’re interested => studioamplify.com/krft

If this looks like something you’d be interested in checking out I have a few promo codes to give away.

well, this is excellent timing…

seems like a new take on the BeatSurfer universe. would love to try this out.

An interesting discussion - KRFT is certainly a departure from the usual GUIs found in music software & apps.

What’s your set up and what iOS device do you have? Great to get you involved !

Have an iPad Pro 9.7 that I would like to use to control Ableton through non-traditional gesture. I tend to make templates through TouchOSC, but only for MIDI control of effects parameters.

I use Pro-Q 2, Valhalla Vintage Verb, Goodhertz to process signal from a growing modular system. I would like to control parameters of these three through a dedicated touch surface that isn’t just a glorified slider/knob paradigm. Looks like KRFT could fit the bill, as it seems to be a lot more abstractly customizable than TouchOSC. If this isn’t a good use case, though, I don’t want to eat up a code. Just let me know and welcome!

It could work for sure! Are you interested in just using it for composition or just purely controlling parameters?

KRFT has more of a compositional work flow than TouchOSC. We have timelines/loops that send MIDI notes out as well as dials/morphs for sending and controlling CCs.

For me, signal and effect modulation is part of composition – so both! I love the idea of sequencing parameter control on the fly, which seems possible in KRFT (using Morph, yes?). I would not likely use the internal sound engine functions, though.

That’s fine - we have plenty of users who do you use the internal sound engine. I’ll DM you a code!
