Buying an Arc without a modular setup + Your favorite Arc apps

Hello everyone, I’m interested in buying an Arc but I’m first I’m trying to figure out how to integrate it into my setup. I do have a Monome 128. I was thinking the returns app itself might justify the purchase.

What are your favorite apps to use your Arc for and are there any upcoming apps to look forward to?

Finally, what are your opinions on buying an Arc without a modular setup?

Continuing the discussion from FS (US) hc-tt (sold): creating a max patch that mimics the hc-tt would definitely be fun. and it sounds like it could be simple enough for a max newbie like me to get their hands dirty. @trickyflemming’s suggested approach: Seems like this would make a great Arc/Max patch. The first Arcs were developed without any modular setup just as the grid. You will find plenty of nice ideas of use and if that is not enough you can still program your own apps via Max/Msp. Strettas Beap which is included in Max will give you a very good starting point.

Electric dharma wheels has to be my personal favorite. I like how chaotic it can be, but at the same time there are boughts of subtle tempo and tonality that snap me back after some sonic exploration. I enjoy having it run in the background as i play keys or something else. Plus it just looks so cryptic and beautiful as the lights just spin and spin. Mesmerizing on so many levels. I want to run it through an effects chain at some point, I hear heavy reverb and a ping pong delay making it dangerously hypnotic.
