Carl Testa: Sway Prototypes Volumes 1, 2, and 3

I’m pleased to announce that the first two volumes of my Sway Prototypes series are now available. Sway is my interactive live processing environment for any number of musicians. It’s written in SuperCollider and I’ve created a version of it for the monome norns as well. This volume series documents the various performances of Sway in different contexts and in different stages of development with a cast of musicians that I’m really proud to work with. Volume 1 contains the first two performances as I was initially developing the concept. Volume 2 contains the first performance of Sway running as an autonomous system as well as the first solo performance of Sway using the monome norns. I’m currently working on producing the 3rd and 4th volumes of this series. If you enjoy the music please consider picking up a copy. I think the physical CDs turned out very nicely. Also, if you know someone who might be interested please send them the link. Links to listen, purchase, etc, are below. Thanks!

I hope everyone is staying safe during this crazy time. If you need some crazy music to accompany you, please take a listen to the latest volume from my Sway Prototypes series. This recording features a quintet performance from Chicago in early January 2019 and a sextet performance from Portland, Maine in September 2019. If you are at all interested in interactive electroacoustic music that gradually morphs and changes and you like free improv, you might be into this music.
Thanks for reading!
