Super stoked to release 2 new albums on 0PR music.
The first is
0PR010 - Scy1e - Occasional Music (made by lines’ own @Weird_Ear @Scy1e)
It’s a real privilege to release music by artists we admire, and Scy1e has been a personal favourite of mine since I first heard ‘Canard’ on the Phinery label years back!
Sounds of ancestral wisdom passed down through machines, an electric seance of shared esoteric knowledge, teachings, admonishments and guidance from spirits that have transcended corporeal form.
Raub’s mastery over the esoteric banana synthesizer landscape always ensures a unique take on semi-familiar sounds from Ciat Lonbarde and Lorre Mill, Blippoo and Grackler etc… the addition here of vocal treatments and solenoid acoustic percussion push this album over the edge from past Scy1e recordings toward a new future.
Sorry for the sales pitch, we just really are super enthused to be releasing it.
Secondly, we have the fourth release by our beloved ET
0PR011 - ET - IV “2084”
A reimagining of some of the themes from the Orwellian classic updated for our millenial psyches. It’s a parable of voluntary submission, people spy on themselves and conduct their public and private lives through a shady web of connected companies. A police force of consent and mutual cooperation, wearing smiling badges, crushes your face with a boot. The atavism of ET III has been largely exorcised, returning to the loving embrace of drum machines accompanied by Rhodes interludes and naturalistic/onomatopeic synthesis to create an album that feels like a film score.
Both of these releases mark a small but exciting step for us towards the inclusion of acoustic and electroacoustic recordings on the label, an area we have begun to explore further for future releases. We have also replenished some stock of older releases in smaller supply.
I hope some will enjoy listening. This thread was a huge spur for us to start our record label and has been a source of some of my favourite tape listening experiences. Much love to the tape community!
