I just disagree with that premise. Plenty of digital gear is not possible to replicate with a laptop (FPGA-based effects, or bespoke stuff like the ensoniq DP4), and considering the functionality/effects on the blooper, there’s no simple replacement that you could just buy. In fact, given the quality of VST emulations, I’d say you’d be better off replacing analog gear with a laptop than something like the blooper.
Also, anyone who would spend $500 on a guitar pedal probably cares about the interface a bit, a desktop sampler is not the same as a laptop. Hell, if that were true, there would be no point in MPCs or Digitakts, etc.
Anyway, not worth debating any further, at least from my point of view. Let’s get back to blooping.
