rev 220105: LTS 4.2

added:

  • PARAMS > transport settings > auto-start cued Live rec? to allow for looping/1-shot to be triggered with song start (@21echoes , this isn’t the same as bringing the 1-shot quantization over to loop, but i think it’s more useful for the case you described – lmk if you find new recording stuff that needs facilitating tho!)
    • with the transport off, engage the Live segment you wish to record into (loop or one-shot) — this is the same process as occurs when you arm a segment for recording, it just won’t enable recording yet
    • when the transport is started, either thru external or manual means, the Live segment will automatically start recording
    • if Live recording is still enabled by the time cheat codes receives a transport stop (either external or manual), it will stop recording (so as not to overwrite your recorded audio)
  • bank level macro, to control all/many bank levels with one fader/knob (thx for the request, @innaspace!)
  • loops screen shows duration of Live recording with respect to rec loop enc resolution (thx for the request, @tournesol!)

fixed:

  • transport separated from MIDI clock source, which allows cheat codes to be started/stopped separately from clocking device (thx for the report, @Ewen_Harrison!)

squelchy artifact:

recorded while testing the 'auto-start cued Live rec' feature
  • fresh collection
  • Analog Rytm with a very simple pattern, connected to norns via USB MIDI for clocking + transport
  • norns clock set to MIDI
  • Live segment 1 set to loop mode
  • PARAMS > transport settings> auto-start cued Live rec? set to yes
  • PARAMS > transport settings > receive MIDI transport? enabled for the Rytm
  • PARAMS > loops + buffers > rec loop enc resolution set to 1 bar, which i adjusted to 8 beats in the loops UI
  • auto-chopped each bank to be an even 16th division of the 8 beats, then doubled the length a few times, set 'em all to loop
  • pitched up 2 of the banks, one of 'em down (i think?)
  • engaged arps on each bank to re-trigger a single pad each, on a 1/16th note beat (bank a pad 1, bank b pad 6, bank c pad 8)
    • while each pad’s loop was longer than 1/16th, this extra runway meant that whenever i stopped the Rytm, these pads would loop for a bit
  • pre-engaged Live segment 1 so it was cued for recording on the transport start
  • pressed play on the Rytm
  • messed around with knobs on the Rytm
  • pressed stop on the Rytm
