each session is ideally going to have 20 people max. we wanted to keep things relatively small, so nothing felt rushed. the sessions will be recorded and Music Hackspace will offer access to them afterwards.

if you don’t have one in mind already, it might be helpful to hold off until you get a sense of what you want your interactions to look/feel like. other folks in the sessions might have advice, as well :slight_smile:

on Mac, I usually just create an aggregate audio device in the Audio MIDI Setup app that bundles up all of my audio sources. then in Zoom, I choose that device as my input and it’s usually good to go – i’ll see if Music Hackspace has any additional tips, tho!

oh, i’m so glad! i was going to mention that anyone who takes the first session will walk away with the tools needed to dig into the second session, so feel free to double-up!

hi dan, interested in this, however I saw wifi as an requirement and I’m having a hard time connecting by wifi and have had to go the ethernet route, how imperative is it to have wifi for this?

oh! good q. not imperative – knowing how to connect your norns to maiden is the real baseline requirement, so that we wouldn’t have to spend workshop time working through connectivity trouble. i’ll still be doing an overview of how to add samples to norns, but without much room in the schedule to touch on individual troubles getting a connection established between norns and a computer. so long as you’re able to connect via ethernet to attend, you’ll be good!

I am in for both days. Not sure if I manage to share sounds (haven’t found out how to make this work with Linux/Zoom) but am looking forward anyway! Also I do not have any of the mentioned controllers (2nd workshop) but have a brand new Faderfox EC4 which I am sure will do the job.
