I get that window splitting on a Macbook too, you can apparently get into the SC code and adjust it for smaller screens but I’ve no idea how or where you’d need look I’m afraid

Yeah, me neither :slight_smile: Still, this version must really be slightly different than the zip file. Maybe decompressing the zip file does something weird and the dmg archive prevents that, this is the only obvious difference in the files as far as I can tell…

All the SC files are in there and they are quite eloquent

Does the layout look fine for you?
If not and if you “speak SC”, would you know how to do this (the changes, we all know how to live with the weirdness by now, haha)?

That’s it!

Loads OK but needs a serial and password to get the FX out of demo mode. No luck finding a current email for Alex Yermakov but will keep looking, the FX seem useful so be nice to get them unlocked.

Looking at that reminds me of the Spark waveform editor, which has a nice matrix thing for routing audio through VST effects in stereo and parallel. Kind of like effect racks in Ableton Live. Maybe that’s a common thing to have now. But it’s pretty good.

I’m eternally mesmerized by the Microstoria records from this period. They still feels radically new to my ears. If you have any additional info (or links to readings) on this stuff from a production standpoint, I’m all ears! Also – it’s odd that there seems to be so little (any?) modern spins on those SoundMagic waveset fx…

I was always very fond of CDminifuck from Leafcutter John - OS9 only - an interesting meeting of Max Msp and CD abuse. Waiting on my G3 Powerbook just ordered to try it out _ whilst on the subject of CD abuse, i recall using small bit of sellotape on cds to make em jump - best on the oldest possible cd player with basic error correction software

Not a laptop, but this thread has gotten me very excited about making music on/with outdated hardware. Finally got a Power Mac G4 MDD from eBay to play around with most of these programs. It boots both to OS9 and OS X 10.4, and I’ve been having a lot of fun with software on both. About to dig in to some PlayerPRO 5 to live some of my Aphex Twin sequencing dreams. Much love to this community for the continued inspiration and creativity.
