Colorwheel v0.2 — INSCRUTABLE BETA

Thats very possible, though maiden says it’s upto date. I initially installed via this quick link incase that makes a difference …

;install GitHub - yams7457/colorwheel

**this is incorrect**

Please uninstall and reinstall via maiden - that link is not the current version

actual thing to do: change the “flast” on the indicated line to “last” and save.

Sorry about that!

I heard Bryan talking about the teletype scene you made for him on podular modcast. Do you have any plans on sharing this scene? I don’t have a norns but would be very interested in the comprehensive teletype version. I completely understand if you can’t share the code

here’s the past response to this question

There is this single-lane version of the quantizer that I made: > teletype: grid # code exchange - #412 by misuba

Mostly I just want to know how you even make a 16-scene TT app, let alone fill most of it with vars. Is it, like, very modal in a user-interface sense? Are you putting all that stuff in the pattern? Just… I kinda wanna see it just to marvel at it

Hey! Absolutely loving jamming with this app. Sorry if I missed it above, been trying to search. But is there any info on the functionality of the “3rd mode” page? The two youtube tutorials mention the Contour page and Interval/Probability/Performance page, but I see that if I press the mode button another time it leads me to a page that seems to effect scales.

Are there any docs indicating what those scales are?

Edit: Realizing the first few rows seem to be chromatic steps from left to right. I’d assume each row effects the corresponding sequencer track?

yo this is all stuff that’s gone undocumented cuz I’m employed now lol.

I would make changes on this page while watching the “root” “third” “fifth” “sixth” and “second” variables in the params menu (I think they’re in the “meta” category but can’t confirm rn cuz… “working”).

By default colorwheel uses stacks of fifths, grouped together in an octave (think C then G then D then A then E). So when you change the “carve” value (third set of “sliders”), the bottom setting is just C and G, then notes are progressively added in the order above (second, then sixth, then third). So altering the third page changes the initial intervalic values for all tracks. Don’t recall off top what order they’re displayed in on that page, which is why I’d make changes while watching those values in params.

Remember these values are sensitive to the modulations programmed on the first two sets of “sliders,” so whatever values you in put will be shifted by fifths or fourths depending on those settings, unless you have them set to the middle value.

I KNOW cw needs some love but between work, keys training, performing, working on two records due out Q1, and tryna be a good partner, I’m a little behind

@misuba can’t share the TT scenes cuz I need to spare you this fate:

Thanks so much for this info!

Yeah totally understood/feel you on trying to support things while working a job haha. I just logged onto the forum for the first time in a while and realized I hadn’t answered a bunch of questions.

Beyond appreciate everything you’ve put into this script and this write up is a huge help :star_struck:

@moderators I can’t edit the OP with updated links / new info etc. Is this a Regular Things That Happens and I just need to make a new thread when I want to revamp the OP?

hihi!

yes! made your top post a wiki to edit foreverrrrrr

This is just fantastic. Very intuitive to use and super satisfying. I have just been jamming with colorwheel and my op-1 for an hour or so. What a great script. Good work @yams

Just digging into Colorwheel (its amazing). Crow is working, but what settings are folks using to get a pulse/trig out of crow instead of an envelope? Maybe something like attack: now, decay: ???, sustain: ???, release: now.
