so loopop has an organelle-m , will he like it ?

Would some lovely soul recommend a generative sequencer for Organelle? Something resembling Marbles or Turing Machine would be fabulous.

and

come to mind; the latter is sample based. have fun!

Lovely, thanks. Is the TM in Orac module? Seems not.

you could make one

when i get around to it, I plan to add Marbles to Orac.
i need to decide exactly how to integrate it, but I’ve some ideas…
(the marbles will be fully ported to pure data, as ive done with other MI modules, but i’ll likely limit the interface a bit in orac module… as its just such a complex beast, so i need to compromise a bit)

Thank you for these and all the other patches you’ve made for Organelle. I’m picking up an Organelle-M over holiday largely because of your contributions and @TheTechnobear’s incredible work. Excited to use it outside with a field recorder :deciduous_tree:

Yay , OS4 released for both organelle-1 and organelle-m

Lots of cool stuff, but my favorite is supercollider now works ‘out of the box’

thank you! thanks gracias /20

That would be really rad.

as trackers now seem to becoming popular again, I wanted to give them a go…
time to install SunVox onto the Organelle-M for a totally portable solution
(all powered off Organelles’s 4 x AA batteries  )

Is the Orangelle capable of emulating Roland SP 505/555 live looping? I’d like to do sound on sound overdubbing, bit reduction, lofi compression but with longer sampling time than the SP’s. Essentially using it like Dakim uses the SP in this live set. Can the Orangelle handle this and does a patch already exist for it that is capable of this?

i could be way wrong but i think he’s making loops with this

organelle primarily runs pd patches so the answer is yes a similar loop function can be done…but i doubt it’s already available

there used to be a count 2 five emulation that might kinda get you where you want but i cant say for sure since i no longer have an organelle

I’ll have to check out the count 2 five patch. I was hoping a pd patch already existed since i only have limited pd experience and its been a couple years since i’ve touched it.

In the video he’s definitely using a Roland SP-505 and a Korg Microsampler. You can see it pretty well at some points in the video and its been discussed elsewhere.

Gotcha

For some reason i assumed there was another looper at his feet

Honestly i think SPs are underrated cause after hunting…I’ve never found a single device that does exactly what they are capable of

To get some of that SP flavor and function (with longer sampling time) i currently use a combo of m4l fx w/ otis for sound on sound dubbing.

The “dakim-loop” technique make use of the delay on the SP. I don’t know if it works on all models. I’ve got the SP-404sx, which has it.

If you max the feedback on the delay. it becomes a 1-bar looper when you set delay-time to one bar.
The loop doesn’t go on forever, it slowly shaves off (mostly low-end) I believe.

With this technique you can do some cool things:

  1. Once you have a loop running you can “glitch it” with the delay-time knob. The glitch gets recorded and you now have a glitchy loop running.
  2. The feedback knob works as a volume control for the repeated sounds. So by making fast movements (lowering feedback, and then back to max) you can turn down sounds.

Have a look at the Ricky Tinez SP-404sx + Circuit videos on Youtube. He uses the technique to make house. The Boss/Roland SP sampler thread

I’ve got the Organelle mk I, but I don’t know the answer. There are a lot of different loopers for sure.

i wrote the count to five emulation and it yes uses circular buffers and loops there is also the count to 6 which adds more functionality. And FWIW i am making a new Morphagene for longer loops

Yoooooo, a pd patch capable of morphagene style functionality would be rad! Use midi from VCV to modulate it like a morphagene would be sick af too

I was thinking about Norns also but i figured the Organelle having more buttons/keys and knobs would be a better choice for a live looper. Plus i have an opportunity to possibly trade for an Organelle.

Yessir. Still considering just getting a 404sx. I’ve had an mpc2kxl for years. I could see using them both together.

Now were talking. Do you have a link to your count to 6?

here’s the latest version a minimized version called baby jockey
should work on sidekick/norns too with a little massaging
