The “dakim-loop” technique make use of the delay on the SP. I don’t know if it works on all models. I’ve got the SP-404sx, which has it.
If you max the feedback on the delay. it becomes a 1-bar looper when you set delay-time to one bar.
The loop doesn’t go on forever, it slowly shaves off (mostly low-end) I believe.
With this technique you can do some cool things:
- Once you have a loop running you can “glitch it” with the delay-time knob. The glitch gets recorded and you now have a glitchy loop running.
- The feedback knob works as a volume control for the repeated sounds. So by making fast movements (lowering feedback, and then back to max) you can turn down sounds.
