I get that. The fact that the hardware designs are going to be open is what tipped me over the edge into preordering one. The only real difference between the Devterm and what I had in mind was that these keycaps look to be smaller than typical Cherry mechanical switches, and I was hoping to include a DC-coupled audio interface somehow.

I figure if I don’t get on with the keyboard on the Devterm I can always make my own keyboard and case and keep the internals. And I’m hopeful that I can figure out an audio interface with their external module. Worst case scenario I still don’t start from scratch. Plus I love the ultrawide screen; It seems like a perfect size to look at waveforms on.

Ugh. I don’t need this in any way shape or form, but now I want it. The thermal printer is the killer piece of the puzzle for me. I’m telling myself that there’s no way I could survive with a 65% size keyboard. But stilllllll…

This thing looks great, seems like a class compliant interface would work with it via USB or are you saying there could be an internal one?

I was thinking internal but actually an ES-9 in my eurorack is probably the way to go. One cable from the Devterm to the modular.

The thermal printer will be great with sticker paper. Especially printing music notation to stick in notebooks.

Yeah, I think it might be a lot of fun as a tracker/live coding device/supercollider machine, using either an old behringer uca usb interface or a motu m4. Not sure if it would be necessary to upgrade to their more robust cpu rather than the raspberry pi option.

DevTerm sure looks great. I don’t need it but I need it ;). I just wish the screen could be tilted akai mpc 2000xl style.
Also I am happy to see easily changeable and what seems standard batteries. I recently had to unscrew few pieces of hardware and throw out their custom batteries due to them “expanding” out of age and I wish I could replace all of the with single same batteries type instead need for seeking like 5 different types/sizes etc.

I’m considering buying a keychron k6 to use mainly with yggdrasil and orca, which is 20% off at the moment. mainly because it’s the cheapest option and a pretty decent keyboard. I just wish it was a little bit thinner, I have a k2 and I feel you need a wrist support to be able to use it. I like 65% size keyboards the best though, since I don’t like to be without dedicated arrow keys. also interested in other similar options if anyone has any tips!

Nothing special on my end. Make sure the switch labeled BT / OFF / Cable is set to cable. (All the way right if looking at the left side directly)
