Thanks (and @disquiet)! I might be able to do this. Family matters (central to my missing the time frame already) continue apace and at new-normal-very-high levels, but if I can steal an hour or so this evening, it’s conceivable I could get this posted. As always, I’m very grateful for this community and the marvelous noises that are made here!

Hey All, I was a bit perplexed about how to go about the assignment this week. I have reaktor, in fact I have the Komplete set but I rarely use any of it outside of Guitar Rig which is my favoritest fx plug in of all time hands down. What I do use frequently is the Arturia V collection which is my best software investment vs. Komplete being the worst. This is a personal opinion and i can see how others feel differently but being of limited means I take my investments seriously except for the impulse buys I sometimes make off Craigslist.Today I got a Hammond organ, not a B or C but sumpin with a leslie cabinet and a line out for $100. As you can see from my rambling sentence structure there was no way in hell I was going to be able to do this assignment unless it magically pooped up on my screen. I did use the Arturia Modular plug in and penciled in a single note and started pluging wires in and turning knobs and recorded that live then took bits of that and time stretched and pitched and looped. One cool thing was the high pitched sound was not heard in the original recording but when I pitched it down boom I could hear it. i then added drums and some vocal tracks cause i needed to blow off some steam. Maybe I could get into modular but it seems to me to be like the sport of golf- cool but out of my price range or maybe(probably) it’s because I just don’t have the patience for either of them. Hope all are well. Peace, Hugh

Posted under the category, “better late than never.” I configured my Aurturia Mood Modular V softsynth to match as closely as possible the Bento Box shared system; you may note that the sequencer is 8-step rather than four, but I accounted for this by replicating a 4-step sequence twice. The patch is pretty simple, as you can see. I aimed to build one that allowed for good variation with the manipulation of a relatively few parameters (which, in my limited experience, is often a good goal for a patch?).

What I was able to generate with this patch, musically, is outside my usual approach and guidelines of taste (part of why I wanted the challenge), so I’m not terribly satisfied with it musically. However, the exercise intrigued me and I intend to spend some more time noodling about with this more West-Coast approach to the quintessential East-Coast modular.
