Where’s your track? I can’t seem to find it.

Fractionally brightened Grosse’s Cerchio di Luce.

Hey Untilled, I posted it under the name “murmurer”, which I use for more minimal synth stuff. Sorry for the confusion:

It’s been a while since I’ve worked much with my collection of field recordings. Being stuck at home all the time, it occurred to me that now is a good time to spend some time with them. @lowellgoss’s contemplative track Cerchio di Luce was a great place to play with some mellow recordings.

Running up against that deadline! I added a muted trumpet to Paul’s (baconpaul) piano in “A Third”.

Tele with glass slide through Ernie Ball VP Jr w/Thrutone Mod, WIIO, MF Drive, Mood, and DL4 direct into Allen&Heath Qu16 with Ableton.

I chose this track by Zoundsabar – Vigil-sc-waves-disquiet0429

I took a few passes at improvising along with the waves and cut out the parts that I didn’t like. If you want to add another instrument to this, I can tell you that I tuned my guitar from highest pitched string to lowest: E,B,F#,C#. More or less Emaj7 tonality by moving 4ths around.

Thank you @zoundsabar for the beautiful and inspiring ocean recording.

Here is a link to download the track with the waves panned left and the guitar panned right: https://soundcloud.com/matthew-thomas-davis/waves-panned

Quite a challenge…
I played 1 track synth - strings and 1 pad and blended them together and added them to Krakenkraft´s beautiful track

Oh this is awesome! The delay adds some nice depth and I love the electronic treatment!

@Stull this is fantastic! I’ve grabbed the stems from @Paul 's bass and @BennDeMole 's flute that they put over this, and would love to do the same for your trumpet. Can you send me a link to the raw trumpet (either reply here, DM me here if you have DM perms yet, or drop me a soundcloud message) and I’ll see if I can mix them into a quartet.

That your trumpet ends a bit early and @BennDeMole’s flue becomes more melodic towards the end gives me a lot of hope that we might have an accidental quartet which works.

Thanks! I sent the trumpet stem in a DM. This was quite challenging for me, especially in the timing. I thought the way I left it would leave room for another instrument to pick up and weave in and out of what’s there.

this was my first track… no panning, because the original was nicely stereo…

I think I am finally learning how to name these collaborations. Noticed there were a few left. I randomly selected @pfig Stray Wool - Day 4. I found a reading of La Vaca Cega on freesound, which I then sliced into a bunch of different sections. It is run through verb and a filter which is being slightly modulated by a befaco rampage based on the peaks. The blind cow is about the invigorating force of compassion, which I thought we could all use now.

Quite the showing. And this playlist doesn’t even account for the tracks on YouTube and Bandcamp. Thank you, everyone.

So behind the scenes I chatted with @Paul @BennDeMole and @Stull to grab their bass, flute, and trumpet stems (respectively) which they put over my solo piano number from last week.

I mixed it down, took @Paul’s suggestion that a little brushed ride cymbal would be lovely, and found to my delight that we had created a lovely spontaneous quartet, here at week two.

I know it’s extra but I wanted to share. Here’s “Four Thirds”

Finally: The four of us have never met. Have never actually collaborated on anything at all. Just the junto bought us together in this cool exercise. So thank you @disquiet for running this wonderful community.

Be safe and be well
