Here’s my 2nd, randomly chosen, contribution for this week, using Onkeltuka’s “backing track”:

I chose to accompany the piece by Candle Nine https @candlesayshi - Ampified/Fractured Cello because I liked the gritty, mournful sound that Candle Nine achieved. My approach was to simply add a deep organ note progression that would contrast texturally with the cello. I added a little reverb to tie the left and right together. Thanks Candle Nine for generating the thoughtful and colourful first line.

i converted @karst 's piece to midi
plugged that into iris 2 with cello samples and added ambient reverb
adjusted the volume a bit.

I have added a second track to @stijn hüwels’s track magnolia. It is my first time sharing here and on soundcloud, so excuse me if I have made any mistakes or accidentally skipped any rules.

This is some fragments of sounds made from supercollider generated synths and patterns and playing them in sonic pi with very short timings. Then I put them together using different kinds of effects. I kind of liked the contrast between the initial track being very constant and some very short sounds.

I took the track “Sweep” created by Fake Genius @fakeg3nius using Roland synths from the 80s, and added a simple bass track from a Moog Matriarch, sweeping that Moog filter.

Jeepers. There are 90 tracks in the latest Disquiet Junto playlist, plus others on YouTube and Bandcamp. If you contributed one and don’t see it in the playlist, lemme know.

Ok, I’ve got two for the playlist this week. I kept the L/R format for the sake of the project. I’m assuming that’s so it’s easy to grab two mono tracks for manipulation. Whoever takes these on next should probably do some panning work to make it feel more natural.

For my first submission, Used these swimming bells from @Ruairi, and frankly had a hard time adding something to it without eliminating the feel he created. I wanted to keep that, so I dialed it way back and simply added some sample modulation from one of my field recordings of a stream.

I’ve been playing Dark Souls for the first time, and just rang both of the bells of awakening, then that primordial serpent “Kingseeker Frampt” showed up. I fell into his little hidey hole once and died. The end result of this piece made me think about what his ascent from the depths up to the surface would have been like after hearing the bells of awakening. #nerd

@ntrier sounded frustrated in his loud organ explosions for last weeks disquiet. He most certainly isn’t the only one feeling frustrated in these times of frustration, so I figuratively/literally echoed his frustrations, and added a bit of my own.

I took his original track, put a delay on it, and mangled the signal using various eurorack modules, first we hear the Schlappi Engineering 100 Grit, followed by the Bastl Dark Matter with a Trogotronic Gran Fury feedback loop, then the Erica Synths/Gamechanger Audio Plasma drive.

Fun as always! Stoked for next week!

Where’s your track? I can’t seem to find it.

Fractionally brightened Grosse’s Cerchio di Luce.

Hey Untilled, I posted it under the name “murmurer”, which I use for more minimal synth stuff. Sorry for the confusion:

It’s been a while since I’ve worked much with my collection of field recordings. Being stuck at home all the time, it occurred to me that now is a good time to spend some time with them. @lowellgoss’s contemplative track Cerchio di Luce was a great place to play with some mellow recordings.

Running up against that deadline! I added a muted trumpet to Paul’s (baconpaul) piano in “A Third”.

Tele with glass slide through Ernie Ball VP Jr w/Thrutone Mod, WIIO, MF Drive, Mood, and DL4 direct into Allen&Heath Qu16 with Ableton.

I chose this track by Zoundsabar – Vigil-sc-waves-disquiet0429

I took a few passes at improvising along with the waves and cut out the parts that I didn’t like. If you want to add another instrument to this, I can tell you that I tuned my guitar from highest pitched string to lowest: E,B,F#,C#. More or less Emaj7 tonality by moving 4ths around.

Thank you @zoundsabar for the beautiful and inspiring ocean recording.

Quite a challenge…
I played 1 track synth - strings and 1 pad and blended them together and added them to Krakenkraft´s beautiful track
