These are three tracks made in response to a call for pieces considering the sounds from three rocks. Disquiet Juno 0441 is the host. I have applied a Biometric and BioFeedBack device to my rocks. These rocks were all acquired during a residency at HAMBIDGE Center in North Georgia.

This track uses a medical grade biofeedback machine on rock 3. It allows 6 separate MIDI channels corresponding to electrical waves in the brain i.e. Alpha, Beta, Theta. I sent 8 channels to 8 discreet samplers in ABLETON. Each sampler contained a Greek Phoneme.

Using a ‘Scion’ Biometric Module from INSTRUO. CVs and Gates Controlling filters and VCOs and running through a Sequential switch to provide a rhythm. A gate from the ‘Scion’ is controlling the Seq Switch

This is my first contribution to Disquiet Junto - you all are such an inspiration (Thank you Marc!)

Asking my kids to bang three stones on whatever they could find (except their baby brother) was a hit. They’ve been testing the rocks on every surface they see for three days! Here, they are knocking three river stones from the local park on a wooden footbridge.

Ah, there’s so much good stuff going on throughout this piece! The rapid skittering sections makes for a wonderful headphone listen and sounds remarkably like the drift of sand and stones on the ebbing tide.

@SussMusik

I’m really enjoying these pieces that reference a particular location and provide background (contextual, historical) to the stones themselves, as well as the surrounding architecture and archeology. This particular place sounds fascinating and steeped in mystery.
