I am glad someone mentioned samplebrain! I had heard of it, but had not used it and thought it might work for this project. I started to wrap my mind around it, but quit because I was spending too much time trying to get it to make sounds and not enough time working on my track. I think my fatal error was trying to use the full version of the sample files, where I read that samplebrain works better with shorter samples. I say all this because, even though I didn’t use it for this project, I still appreciate that the prompt caused me to try it and now I’m more likely to try again in the future.

Ha, true! I think I’m starting to get the hang of it a bit more. I was definitely using samples that were far too long. It’s a fun as heck tool when it’s working though.

I sort of get how it works, not really but sort of. I can’t work with it intentionally, but it is indeed fun. I like to use it to make whatever it wants to do with the material I feed it, then work with it and shape into something more palatable to my ears.

I’m happy the mention sparked an inspiration for you to try it! I think you’re right that the sample files need to be shorter. That seems to have been my problem too, other than glitches with the sw itself. I ended up reinstalling a previous version. Sometimes I’m glad I’m an installer hoarder. heh

love this one, refined tones and clear mixing of the elements.
