Hi! I’m the author of that Modes app. @damon, nice job - your design is much nicer than my document pages

Just FYI it’s in the queue for Modes, but will probably be a month or two before I get it done. I’ve gotten permission from the original O_C authors to adapt their user guide so I will be starting with the original firmware.

If you sort the open issues on the GH project by the date the issue was opened you can roughly see my plan. If anyone wants to contribute that would be wonderful, just check the issue list and comment so nobody does it twice.

Cheers!
Tom

That’s fantastic! Thanks for working on this  I might very well contribute if I can be of help - I’ll look into the GH project.

This has all been super helpful seeing as how i just bought a Mk4. Thanks all!

Wow, has everybody made one of these? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Good job on yours! Now I feel like search should have been a 1.0 feature…

Hehe I happen to have built a few search driven UIs at work, so it was just what’s at hand

My wish is for a handy PDF/mobile/app guide for o_C Hemisphere Suite

Yay

thank you for this helpful tool!

You’re welcome, I’m glad you find it useful! Sorry I’ve fallen behind on updating it for the latest the firmware updates. :flushed: I hope to catch up before the weekend, next week at the latest…

The guide is now up-to-date as of v4.14.2.

Oh, I just realized that I never linked to the GitHub repository. I don’t know why anyone would wanna fork it (maybe you don’t like my color scheme…), but if anyone does, here it is. I suppose one potentially useful thing is that the basic info is all in JSON files. I suppose that could come in handy in other contexts.

Thank you so much for this guide, really helps me as I am new to everything.

After the 4.14.2 update I no longer have parameters on L1 L2 L3 and others, (but B5 has parameters)

What am I missing? if asking this question is not allowed, please delete my post and sorry again.

Stay safe everyone.

This issue recently bit me as well. On algorithms that have the Z knob button do something else (in the case of L1-3, it’s freeze) you have to use the alternate method of accessing parameters which is to push-hold-then-twist the S knob to scroll through the parameters. More details can be found in the manual on page 8 under the heading “Parameters.”

I recently added a hint (“use S knob to access parameters”) to the algorithms that use the Z knob button for knob recording, but I missed it for the ones that use freeze (and perhaps other uses…I’ll have to look) so thanks for bringing this to my attention.

i’ve had a disting installed for a good while but haven’t taken a deep dive just yet — this will be incredibly helpful in getting me there. thank you!

Likewise, and every time there’s a new post in this thread I think that I really should look beyond the quantizers and occasional other algorithms to see what the Disting can do for the other modules surrounding it.

I’m afraid I don’t understand the question. The ES-1 emulation algorithm doesn’t have any parameters. Could you elaborate on what problem you are having?

Hiya, anybody here able to explain this new chaos Generator function that was just added in the new firmware?

I haven’t had a chance to update yet, so haven’t had played with it, but the video he made for it seems to do a decent job of demystifying it:

Only saw a brief twitter vid. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

THEN ASSIGN MODULATION G1 DOES NOT HAVE PARAMETERS? …
I’m unable to zero the outputs on my disting mk4. Both A and B stay blue unless i turn hard CCW at which point A stays blue and B starts to flicker. I’m not sure where i’m going wrong but I can’t control parameters on my modular right now

The ES-1 emulation takes signals from your computer’s audio interface into X & Y via the Silent Way AC Encoder plugin and translates it to CV out of A & B. The modulation comes from your computer, not the Disting (that is, it comes through the Disting from your computer).
