yeah, I’m going to go over it again with a fine tip. I’ll touch up all the passives. I did just clean (with toothbrush and ipa) I will hit all the joints again.

Hell yea! It works! Now I need it to recognize my trellis clone…:frowning:

One last question: Will the Norns shield work with crow? I’m looking for cv out from grid to modular without using a computer.

Any word on when the Norns Shield kits will be back in stock on the shop? Or, better yet, a way to get an email notification? Don’t want to miss out!

hey hey! they’ll be back in this week (per Monome stock/shipping update may 2020). if you follow that thread, you’ll get notified of any changes

unfortunately modern-covid-times has the shipment trapped in pay-taxes-purgatory, so hopefully it’s not coming today, and hopefully will have it sorted by tomorrow.

thanks for this!

just ordered pcbs and mouser parts, as the shield was not in stock and pusherman was out, too. now it comes back… well. too bad.

one question, will this work with the slower rpi B ?? or is that just too slow? original norns uses rpi compute, which is faster, right?

Norns shields and kits are back in stock, i have just passed my order. Can’t wait. Thanks a lot!

Glad I’ve been checking the market every day. Kit ordered!

Doing some research now to see how much support I can expect for my monome 64.

It’ll work! Modifying scripts is also very doable.

Edit: most scripts will be kind of limited with a 64 grid though. Not all scripts lend themselves to being easily modified.

I read on (I think) another thread that there may need to be some gain-staging of inputs and outputs on the Shield. Mine is arriving shortly and I’m wondering what else I may need to buy to get acceptable levels. Is this correct in the first place? Sorry for the noob question. This never came up as laptop music guy these last 20 years.

Does anybody knows if a RPi Model 3B (NOT +) could be used for the shield? Somebody gifted me one and I would love to use it.

Yes - An RPI 3B will work just fine. That is more or less identical to the CM3 module used in norns.

Just built mine tonight! One question though, after we put it to sleep, can I just pull the USB power from it? The screen stays on and doesn’t react to button presses or holds.
