Hello. In case you didn’t know: I’m the primary maintainer of 16n.
I’m working on a… project that would really benefit from input from existing 16n owners.
16n is an open-source project, and widely distributed: it’s never had an ‘official’ build, meaning boards, entire builds, and derivative projects have been made in many places. (This is a good thing!) But it also means that getting in touch with people who use it, or its derivatives, is somewhat tricky.
And more importantly: I’d really like you to share this survey with anyone you know who has one. I figured the best way I could get this out there would be some kind of viral spread, but Lines seemed as good a starting point as any. Might see if I can do something on the Instas, too.
Also, I have an A2Vproject version and spoke at length with someone from A2V at Superbooth recently and we discussed how close it was to being a perfect controller. But there is room for a nip and a tuck here and there to resolve some of the small ergonomic niggles! Apparently there are quite a few people who’ve raised these niggles and they are seriously considering a V2…
All done! I probably wouldn’t build a new version seeing as mine works fine and I don’t need to consume more resources, but I do wish it had a mini-b USB jack. Excited to see what pops out of this.
answered the survey before i saw your teaser photo with the USB-C port on board. Nice! (I’ve repaired three 16n boards with decapitated Teensy USB ports for people over the years.)
