I’m pretty blown away with the Typhon. Sounds amazing to me and so easy to use. Recently acquired a power bank to use with it and took some time in the park yesterday to learn how the sequencer works. It was much easier than I thought it would be…didn’t even have to crack the manual it’s so well laid out. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to sit with a instrument and just play for a few hours.

Two new Chromatic modules incoming, an 8-stage(!) phaser and Karplus-Strong strings:

Seems like these Chromatic modules should probably be getting more attention than they do. Clever and great value.

Oh wow I was just looking for a tunable comb filter / Karplus-Strong module! This is an insta-buy for me.

Same here. I was just thinking that it seems to want me to use it as a paraphonic “solo” instrument and kind of a Blade Runner tangent, even though it’s not anything like a CS-80  I must not be the only one, since a couple of different YouTubers have covered parts of the Blade Runner score with it.

There are a lot of demos where it sounds kind of dull, but it really doesn’t have to – it rewards a little sound design work and some outboard FX.

I think part of that might be due to the colorful panels. I have a Hysteria (VCO module) and I like it a lot, though I wonder if they would be more popular if the panels were a more neutral color with just some colorful highlights to distinguish them.

The white text on yellow background on the Euphoria in particular is less than optimal.

Anyway, here’s Gaz Williams doing an extensive run through of the two new modules:

If people are turned off merely by the colorful panels, I find that sad, even shameful. My main concern is that the Euphoria panel seems too low contrast (white on yellow).

I love the colours!

Just bought an Eudemonia and it’s great. Well built, looks nice and sounds great.

I’d go for some of the others if I didn’t already have those bases covered (the bitcrusher/random module does look very cool though).

I think the modules are still built at their workshop in Greece (not outsourced to PRC or similar to drive the cost down), so they are great value.

Hmm… I was thinking about the Antidote as a possible substitute for the Doepfer A-188-1Y I was thinking about. But honestly, each time my ears really perked up at a sound in that video, it was Euphoria and/or Nostalgia.

Euphoria sounds pretty fantastic to me – I have both an E520 and an FX Aid and I feel like they can’t touch what it’s doing (though they have their own charms; the Deflector Shield algorithm in particular has a lot of other tricks up its sleeve, and FX Aid’s phaser with the sample rate dropped is good fun).
