The time is quickly approaching where we will once again share 28 hours of continuous drone up here in Minneapolis, all in the name of giving the proverbial middle finger to war while raising money for Doctors Without Borders.

If this sounds even remotely interesting to you gran that sleeping back and make the trip, I absolutely could not recommend it enough.

If you can’t make the event you can catch the livestream at DroneNoteDrones.com, recordings of past drones can be found at our Bandcamp page, and all proceeds from Bandcamp sales and ticket sales are donated to Doctors Without Borders.

If you’re thinking about coming and have any questions or if you’ve already been to a Drone I’d love to hear from you below, and if you’re going to be there this year also please let me know.

Intrigued! If one is unable to commit to the whole 28 hours, is it cool to stop by for 30-90 min? Will there be an estimate schedule for who’s performing at different times? Or a livestream?

Yup, one can come and go however they please throughout the event. Lots of folks bring sleeping backs and pillows and such and camp out for the duration, but folks also come and go, and there are chairs around the perimeter of the room for people to sit in.

The Drone will also be livestreamed here, and a proper schedule will be released in the next few days which will also be posted at that same link.

For sure! Drone Not Drones is my favorite thing, full stop, and it’s a damn treat to be involved in making it happen.

This has got to be the coolest fucking thing I have ever heard

Yeah, it really is the best. Here are a few photos from last year that show the vibe of a roomful of folks hunkered down for the Drone.

Hell yeah, I’m really stoked to see what happens with our set.

Are you going to be there?

There’s a small chance, but very likely not. 2 little ones make it hard to get out.

Thank you for the livestream! There were so many beautiful sets over the weekend - r beny to Chuck Johnson + Cole Pulice was so stellar. Congrats on the event!

Yes! Thanks, and thank you for catching the stream, it makes us so happy to see folks enjoying the Drone from afar.

And yeah, that stretch from r beny through Cole was also a very strong highlight for me. Austin (r beny) came to town and played a small fundraiser show Thursday and crashed in my spare bedroom over the weekend; he’s a super warm and generous dude, and it was great having the chance to meet him and get to know him a bit through this as well. Chuck and Cole are also DND alumni and old friends, and it’s always so great to see them again for the event. So much of the magic of the event really is just in getting so many amazing artists together like this.

I’ll try and remember to share the audio here when we put it up into Bandcamp, and also the video when we get it up into YT.

And we ended up raising $11,500 on door alone for Doctor’s Without Borders, not including online donations from the stream and merch sales, which is something we’re all feeling super fucking proud of right now.

That’s awesome!! Wonderful that you got a chance to spend time with Austin/r beny throughout the weekend, too.

Chuck was a new discovery for me that made me wonder how I’d missed him before.
Cheers and thanks again!
