an idea:

while a pattern is in playback, press arm to toggle overdub mode. now each press will insert new notes into the existing pattern.
press arm again to disable overdub mode.

i realize that patterns are limited to 64 notes. perhaps overdub only works until the 64 note reserve is depleted?

If this could be done, then why not add the option to multiply the length of the pattern? Start small, and expand upon…
