Hi there everyone, like a lot of people I use a lot of samples, sometimes in complex ways and other times not, I would love to have the result represented in CV and so naturally one might reach for an envelope follower. However, I find that so many do not have an audio thru which is really unbelievable to me. Mutable ears is great, simple but flexible. So I wonder, does anyone out there know if it could be possible to put a pair of the ears circuits (minus the scratchy plate) into 2hp module? 4 jacks for each, in, out, Cv, gate. Jumpers on the back like ears? I am also interested in any 2hp envelope followers out there with audio thru
The Italian company Jolin has the Ascolta in their program which pretty much looks like what you are describing (in 5HP though): ASCOLTA ⇝ dual preamp follower — Jolin - we build stuff
I feel I have seen another dual implementation closer to the original Ears, but can’t unearth it right now. Maybe I’m just imagining this …
I enjoy routing sample based material through the Zlob F3DB (a fixed filter bank) and using the spectral envelopes to modulate all sorts of things: https://zlobmodular.com/product/vc-f3db/
All FFBs with envelope followers will do, bit this is the most compact and feature rich implementation I know.
Perfect find, ordered! Thanks….
Plankton Electronics has a 2HP envelope follower. Ladik has also a 4HP one and I totally recommend Aikido (11HP) with 2 envelope followers built in that are normalized to the VCA cv ins so it’s ready to go, plus all the nice features of a quad VCA with clickless mutes.
Can be a good idea to mult the envelope follower to something like Ladik Derivator.
